June 30th, 2018 Opening Planned For Toy Story Land

Last week Disney fans went wild as the announcement came that the all-new Toy Story Land at Walt Disney World Resort would see it's official opening on June 30, 2018. The first full Land to open as part of a plan to revitalize Disney's Hollywood Studios Theme Park, Toy Story Land with take Guests on a toy's eye view journey through Andy's backyard.

Woody, Jessie, Buzz, Slinky Dog, the Aliens, Green Army Men and other fun-loving Toy Story characters come to life in 11-acre playland full of vibrant landscapes straight out of the creative minds of Disney's Imagineers. Toy Story Land will feature two brand attractions and a special entrance for and expanded favorite. Crayons, Rubik's Cubes, Cooties, Green Army Men give Guests a feeling of nostalgia for bygone days playing in their own backyards, only with a shift in scale as they become part of the toys. With set pieces, staging, attractions and experiences Toy Story Land represents the best of Walt Disney Imagineering's collaboration with our storytelling partners at Pixar Animation Studios," said Bob Chapek, chairman of Walt Disney Parks and Resorts. "This new land will place guests inside the wondrous world of Woody, Buzz and their pals - and invite everyone to experience the joy of being a toy.

Toy Story Land isn't the only exciting new area coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios. In 2019 the second Land of this multi-year expansion will open with the highly anticipated 14-acre Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge. Also coming in 2019 is the fun filled Mickey & Minnie's Runaway Railway in the Chinese Theater, the first ever ride featuring all about Mickey Mouse.
