Over the past couple of years Imagineers at Disney's Animal Kingdom have been hard at work to develop new concepts and experiences to breathe new life into the Park. Finally the immersive wildlife Park that's not a zoo is coming into its own and taking center stage with a full slate of exceptional experiences. I'm not even going to try and list all the reasons I love Animal Kingdom, but I will absolutely share the four best reasons to be sure it's in the plan for your next Walt Disney World vacation.
Pandora " The World of Avatar is finally opening! While a lucky few have been able to get previews of Animal Kingdom's biggest expansion project ever, May 27th is the opening date for the general public. From what we've seen so far - this other worldly experience has been worth the wait. In addition to the sheer spectacle of the land, Pandora adds two new major attractions, the 'Na'vi River Journey' and 'Avatar Flight of Passage.'
'Rivers of Light' may have had a rough beginning, but when the sun goes down on Animal Kingdom the Discovery River begins to whisper. As guests gather on the banks flickering fireflies begin to dance, vibrant light illuminates the river and takes to the sky, as storytellers guide the spectacle of movements to music. This sacred experience connects all of the earth's creatures with the "shimmering secrets of the universe."
'Tiffins' is a Disney Signature Dining experience that lives up to all the best hype. Created around the concept of honoring the Disney Imagineers that put their hearts into Animal Kingdom, Tiffins takes guests on a culinary world journey as they dine in vibrant galleries of artwork used in the creation of the Park. Dining at Tiffins is about discovery and making a reservation for fine dining here will take guests their own culinary adventures. If you don't have the time for a full meal, but want a taste of Tiffins, stop in for a cocktail and nosh at the connected Nomad Lounge.
Special Guided Tours at Disney's Animal Kingdom take the Parks message of conservation and care for our planet to a whole new level. 'Backstage Tales' and 'Caring for Giants' offer a chance to see how Disney's Animal Kingdom stays on the cutting edge of animal care. 'Wild Africa Trek' is an adventure tour through the brush of Animal Kingdom where guests can view the Parks inhabitants from a whole new angle. Finally, 'Savor the Savanna: Evening Safari Experience' is a privately guided tour of the Harambe Wildlife Preserve with African-inspired tapas, regional beer and wine offerings.
