A Look Inside The Boardwalk Villas Deluxe Studio

On my most recent trip to Walt Disney World I had the experience of spending the night at Disney's Boardwalk Inn and Villas Studio. Guests staying at this Disney Deluxe Resort enjoy saltwater taffy-colored cottages, private courtyards and picturesque gardens throughout the property. A Coney Island-style boardwalk takes center stage a plethora of shopping, dining, and entertainment all right outside your door.

The Boardwalk Lobby is a fun space filled with antique amusement park models and vintage carnival-like decor. Disney Vacation Club guests check-in in the same location as those at standard resort rooms. The airy interior is a comfortable place to rest and relax after a long day at the Park or while you're waiting to check in. Just outside the lobby doors a long balcony offers outdoor seating overlooking the croquet lawn and boardwalk below, as well as beautiful crescent lake beyond.

Since it was just my husband and I staying for just one night after attending the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival a Deluxe Studio Villa suited our minimal needs for the trip. Like many other of Disney's Deluxe Studio Villa, the room offers enough sleeping space for 4-5 people when using the sofa bed and a convertible table/bed beneath the TV set. The units also all have private patios or balconies, kitchenettes, and bathrooms with separate sinks and vanity areas.

I was impressed with the amount of space in our studio, and to a large part I think that was because of the convertible table/bed beneath the entertainment center. While this convertible table worked fine for just the two of us, if the kids had been with us I would have really missed having a dedicated table space. The kitchenette in this room also seemed larger to me than some I have had at other DVC resorts. There was ample space on the countertop and beneath the cabinets, this made using the coffee pot easy thing in the morning.

The bathroom was pretty standard as far as DVC Studios go, it was well stocked with a hair dryer, towels, and my beloved H2O+ products to use. Oddly, the vanity area was the one place in the room that I thought had the most character with Mickey lights above a mirror that had a playful bubble detail.

Overall I felt that the rooms lacked real character and theming of a turn-of-the-century seaside resort. That's not to say that it wasn't a beautiful room, it just felt like it could be a part of any hotel across the country. The decor was comfortable and modern, with just a hint of a boardwalk flair in the modern photography pieces.

That being said, even though it was a little boring, the bed was honestly one of the most comfortable Disney beds that I have ever slept in. I give them big points for a solid night of sleep.

Our room was on the ground floor next to the DVC pool and didn't really have much of a view. However my traveling companions for the trip had a lovely second floor room overlooking Luna Park Pool. If I were to stay at the Boardwalk in the future I would probably make the request for a second floor pool view room.

Disney's Boardwalk Inn and Villas is a beautiful resort with a great location. Food and entertainment options are plentiful on site - Read Our Quick Stop At The BoardWalk Bakery Post - and transportation to and from the Parks is quick and reliable. The Boardwalk Cast Members that I encountered were friendly and helpful, working quickly to overcome bumps in the road that my party encountered.

My wife and I stayed there last summer. We had a room at the end of the hall, top floor, overlooking the Boardwalk. We absolutely loved it! We could sit out on our balcony and watch the Hollywood Studios fireworks and the jugglers down on the boardwalk. Ample Hills being downstairs completely wrecked my diet. Some of the best ice cream I've ever had. Also, being right next to Epcot was awesome. We are at a different country almost every night. Hollywood Studios is also walkable. I plan on staying there again in a couple years when our newborn is old enough to enjoy it!

The Boardwalk Villas are our "Go To" resort for F&W Festival each year (5 years in a row now!). We love the location, theming and quaintness of the resort. The views from our rooms have been great to spectacular thus far... The walk to EPCOT is the major selling point for us, but each year we come back find more reasons to want to stay here. In fact, we are seriously considering buying in DVC and making this our home resort.. We like it that much!! Our kids will get to finally enjoy the BWV this year, as I've booked a 1-bdrm. Boardwalk View over the X-Mas Holidays!! We can't wait!!! I highly recommend Boardwalk Villas and Inn to anyone that loves Disney like we do...

Thanks, Kristen
