Million Dollar Arm In Theaters May 16th

Coming this Friday, May 16th, Disney will unveil its next feel good movie to the viewing public. Million Dollar Arm: starring Jon Hamm, Aasif Mandvi, Bill Paxton, Suraj Sharma, Lake Bell, Madhur Mittal, Pitobash and Alan Arkin is based on the true story of a veteran sports agent as he comes to grips with a changing career field. He comes up with a plan to find the next big baseball star in a country where baseball is almost unheard of, India.

JB Bernstein (played by Jon Hamm) creates a reality based game show, called "The Million Dollar Arm" in hopes of finding the next big star. JB and Ray Poitevent (played by Alan Arkin) discover two young men with no idea what baseball is but can easily throw a ball very, very quickly. Dinesh (played by Madhur Mittal) and Rinku (played by Suraj Sharma) travel to the United States with JB and Ray in the hopes of signing on to major league teams. The boys aren't the only ones who learn valuable life lessons as they are transplanted to the USA, as JB also learns from these young men as the three of them grow together in the important concepts of family, teamwork and commitment.

Craig Gillespie (director) and Tom McCarthy (writer), bring to life the heart touching movie as two cultures clash in both enjoyable and heartwarming ways. This is more than just a sports movie, it's a movie that seeks to teach the importance of family and teamwork while also being something for everyone. And since it is rated PG, it is the perfect family film that even the young sports fans in your family will enjoy.
