A brand new parade will march its way down Main Street U.S.A. at Disney's Magic Kingdom in the spring of 2014, according to an announcement made at the "Monstrous Summer" press event.
The parade, named the Disney Festival of Fantasy Parade, celebrates New Fantasyland with innovative parade floats, vibrant costumes, and an all new original soundtrack featuring a theme song for the parade along with songs from some of our favorite Disney films.
The concept art for the parade shows a pirate-themed float featuring Peter Pan, Wendy, Captain Hook, and Mr. Smee, a hot air balloon float with Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse, and a Tangled-themed float with Rapunzel, Flynn Ryder, and of course, lanterns.
Stories highlighted in the parade include The Little Mermaid, Sleeping Beauty, Dumbo, Pinocchio, Peter Pan, Tangled, and Disney/Pixar's Brave.

I "hope" that Disney definitely researches and not only be loyal to the original artists renderings in the film but also to original authors, etc.
For instance, Pinocchio is often associated with Teutonic visuals when in reality its original author Carlo Collodi is Italian. It would be refreshing to see Italian inspiration incorporated into the "Pinocchio" float. I personally would love to see Lampwick and the dangers of Pleasure Island on this float too- a scene too often forgotten visually at Magic Kingdom.
I 'did' notice artist renderings for Madame Upanova from the "Dance of the Hours" sequence on the Mickey/Minnie float. Yes please!! Please please please showcase "Fantasia" themes and characters. My personal favorite sequences are "Dance of the Hours", "Ave Maria", and the Bacchus wine festival scene. Bacchus was featured at Disneyland in a parade in the late 90s/early 00s and has been M.I.A. since.
And finally: "Sword and the Stone" and "Petes Dragon". Just.....BRING THEM BACK, Imagineers!! 'Nuff said. Although doubtful, I would anticipate to see them upon my next visit in mid February.
