Disney's Riviera Resort is a gem in the crown of Disney Vacation Club properties. The stylish European design takes guests to the sunny shores of the Mediterranean, and spending time at lounging by the serene Beau Soleil pool was truly one of the highlights of my trip.
Taking its place in the center of the Riviera's center courtyard the gated pool area embraces a simple elegance of wrought iron, tall palms, and bright blue umbrellas. Guests will need their MagiBands to enter the space and pool hours are subject to change.
Guests will find the essentials they need just within the gates, such as life vests and pool towels.
Lounge chairs and tables are set up around the pool in socially distanced groups of 2-4 chairs. A sign asks that they not be moved in order to meet health guidelines. Masks don't need to be worn in the pool, but it's a good idea when lounging or moving around the deck.
In addition to the chaise lounges located around the pool's edge. There is a patio for dining, and social lounge seating on a short lawn. The stylish areas make for a comfortable and chic setting to enjoy your time out of the water.
The Beau Soleil Pool is a simple geometric shape with a long side of shallow steps that lead down into the pool. While I didn't stop and ask, the silky texture of the water feel makes me think that this is a salt water pool.
Off to the side of the Beau Soleil Pool guests will find a simply designed mid-sized square spa. There were three other couple in the spa while I was there in the evening, and with each of us in a corner we were able to maintain a six-foot distance between us.
While there certainly isn't anything exciting about the Beau Soleil Pool, this little oasis the the middle of it all gave swimmers a delightful retreat. If you're not a fan of crowded feature pools, give the quiet Beau Soleil a try.
