Seven Sweet and Savory Snacks You Have to Eat at the Magic Kingdom

Snacking is always a highlight of any vacation to Disney World, regardless of what park you're visiting. Each theme park has its own slate of must-eat snacks, and today we're checking out seven of the must-eat sweet and savory snacks at the Magic Kingdom.

One of the best things about many of the snacks at Disney World is that sometimes a snack makes the perfect meal. This is very true during the really HOT and humid summer months when it's almost too hot to eat. Instead of ordering a full meal somewhere you can often pair two snacks (think: breadsticks and a salad at Pinocchio Village Haus) and voila! ... you have a meal!

If hunger strikes while you're headed toward Liberty Square and you need something with some substance, stop by Sleepy Hollow Refreshments for a baked potato. (You might also find it at Liberty Square Market).

Baked potatoes!Baked potatoes!

The potatoes are served with butter, sour cream, and cheese and they're the perfect healthy snack to keep you going. It's also a great deal, priced at less than $4 (or a snack credit on the Disney Dining Plan).

I mentioned Pinocchio Village Haus earlier and that's where you'll find the next savory snack on this list: Breadsticks with Marinara (if these aren't on the menu it is likely because the Pesto Knots have returned ... both are delicious).

On their own, the breadsticks make a great snack, and paired with a side salad (or soup if that's your thing), they make a great light lunch. They're doughy and fluffy and topped with a sprinkle of toasted cheese. Yum!

The last must-have savory snack is ... popcorn! Yes, you can get popcorn at all the Disney World theme parks, but for some reason it just tastes better at the Magic Kingdom. Weird, right? ;-D

There are popcorn carts throughout the park but we love to grab a container of fresh, salty popcorn from a cart near Cinderella Castle and nosh on it as we wait for the nighttime fireworks (which by the way, is now Happily Ever After!).

Moving on to the best sweet snacks at the Magic Kingdom one of our new favorites is the churro! We've always loved ordering churros from La Cantina de San Angel in Epcot's Mexico pavilion, but now you can find them in the Magic Kingdom!

There are a couple of spots where you'll find churros, including a cart near Cinderella Castle. And, don't forget you can also get mini churros at Pecos Bill's Tall Tale Inn & Cafe!

No list of the best sweet snacks at the Magic Kingdom would be complete without a mention of Dole Whip! You'll find this iconic snack at Aloha Isle in Adventureland.

Always Dole Whip!Always Dole Whip!

My personal favorite is the Dole Whip Float (even though the swirl isn't available anymore..womp, womp) but Dole Whip without pineapple juice is also delish. (If orange is more your style, stop by Sunshine Tree Terrace for a Citrus Swirl.)

Another new-ish favorite snack on the list is Cinnamon Glazed Almonds. This is the perfect walk-and-eat kind of snack, and they make a great pick-me-up in the middle of the afternoon. You'll find these at various snack carts around the park including the Storybook Circus Popcorn Cart.

And finally, the last sweet snack on the list is the iconic, must-have Mickey Mouse Rice Krispie Treat. Again, you'll find variations of these around Disney World but the krispie treats from the Main Street Confectionary are the best. My personal favorite features just the ears dipped in chocolate. Also, these make a great on-the-go breakfast (they ARE made with cereal)!

Another great thing about the Mickey Mouse Rice Krispie Treats? If you have several Disney Dining Plan snack credits left you can buy a few Krispie treats for the trip home or even as souvenirs for friends and family!
