The Marketplace of Disney Springs is the original section of a sprawling shopping, dining, and entertainment complex located in Walt Disney World. Shops in the Marketplace still retain the shopping village charm, and guests are apt to find a quirky gift that they didn't know they needed. Mickey's Pantry offers food, gifts & housewares, and spirits that have a decidedly Disney flare.
The overall atmosphere inside Mickey's Pantry is that of a cozy kitchen gone Disney. This is the place you'll find gadgets and gizmos a plenty to bring the magic home. THE place to shop if you're looking for Disney foodie souvenirs. Walking in you'll discover kitchen wears that range from oven mitts and magnets, to cookies from Minnies Bake Shop and bottles of Once Upon A Vine wines. You'll even find a wall of magnets to make sure your refrigerator is the most magical of them all.
To my delight, I discovered that Mickey's Pantry also includes a charming outpost for The Spice & Tea Exchange. With its headquarters in St. Augustine, Florida, The Spice & Tea Exchange is a great example of Disney supporting Florida gown business through merchandise and culinary programs. In this section of the pantry guests are encouraged to "open the jars and smell, explore recipes, and speak with our knowledgeable staff about your culinary interests."
I was thrilled to see rows upon rows of high quality, full leaf tea selections for sale. Along side traditional selections such as Oolong, Genmaicha, and Earl Grey, tea lovers will delight in fun proprietary blends with names like Roy G Biv, Gone Bananas, and Tiki Punch. There were also plenty of tea accoutrements made to help you brew the perfect cuppa. A whimsical assortment of animal shaped silicone tea infusers, had me giggling when I found them. I feel in love with the narwhal.
Beautifully shelved glass jars of spices were also available from The Spice & Tea Exchange. A fine array of spice blends created by hand from original recipes can take care of just about any kitchen needs. The selection includes dozens of rubs for steak, chicken, seafood, pasta seasonings, curries, and more. I was particularly fond of the Chef-to-Table meal kits that included small packets of the spices needed as well as instructions to create complete dish.
The shop's most popular spice blend is the "Florida Sunshine" grinder. It makes for a perfect souvenir for the culinary genius in your life. "Florida Sunshine" starts with Brazilian Atlantic sea salt, and then blends it with lemon, lime and orange zest, mild green peppercorns, rose petals and a touch of ginger.
Have you been to Mickey's Pantry lately? It's absolutely a shop worth a stop in the Marketplace at Disney Springs.
