It seems the country has gone bonkers for yogurt. It all started a few years ago with the rise of Pinkberry in the Los Angeles area. Folks flocked to the shop for the tart, probiotic frozen treat. Now Pinkberry is expanding nationwide.
Yogurt purveyor Pinkberry's success lead to competition, and now even more yogurt chains are popping up across the country " Tasti-D-Lite, Red Mango, Yogurtland, 32 Degrees, and Yogurt Lab are the names of just a few other chains. Even the old standby, TCBY, has seen a rise in sales due to the resurgence of the frozen delight.
And now the yogurt craze has reached Orlando, with a Pinkberry location opening this year. Unfortunately it's not on WDW property, but it is just a quick ride up I-4 from the World in the Dr. Phillips area of town.
So, would you like to see a yogurt shop open at Downtown Disney, or perhaps the Boardwalk area? Or are Dole whips and ice cream sundaes enough to fill your frozen treat craving? Comment below and let us know your thoughts.
And for those of you who absolutely must have some froyo while at WDW, here are some local shops:
Pinkberry: Dr. Phillips Marketplace 7600 Dr. Phillips Blvd, Orlando, FL
Menchie's Frozen Yogurt: 7339 West Sand Lake Road, Orlando, FL
Yankee Doodle Ice Cream & Yogurt 4301 W. Vine St., Kissimmee, FL

I'd love to see Disney jump on board the frozen yogurt craze! Frozen yogurt is a vacation staple for me because there are few frozen yogurt places where I live and it's oh so yummy! I would definitely frequent a froyo place in Downtown Disney!!

Thanks for the comment Em! Getting alternatives you can't get at home is a defining characteristic of vacations, right? :) Any other types of food additions you'd like to see?
