Snack & Savor Africa At The Epcot International Food & Wine Festival

I must admit, my heart skipped a little when reading the menu for the 2015 Epcot International Food & Wine Festival Africa Marketplace Booth. Not only is there a dish that has Sanaa fans buzzing (can you say buttered chicken), but this year they'll be featuring one of my very favorite wines. Read on to take a peek at the what this Marketplace Booth will be serving up.

Jam Jar Sweet Shiraz! This is one of my personal favorites wines, and I've been enjoying it since I discovered it at the Animal Kingdom Lodge in 2009. Shiraz grapes are grown in Paarl Region of South Africa where flavor components bring out big fruit flavor, but it's sweetness is tempered with acidity so that it doesn't become cloying in your mouth. Just a hint of tannin in the finish adds finesse without drying out the palette.

While I know folks are waiting on the edge of their seats for the Buttered Chicken that will be available at the South African booth, I like to enjoy Jam Jar with rich dishes that include beef and a bit of spice. Be adventurous here and order up the Berbere-style beef tenderloin tips with onions, jalapenos, tomato and pap, with a glass of Jam Jar to wash it down.
