Souvenir Sensation: Folding Hand Fans

I love shopping at Walt Disney World, and I am always on the hunt for new treasure and trinkets to bring back with me from my travels. On my most recent trip I came across a fabulous and fair inexpensive souvenir that was as useful as it was pretty - Disney themed folding hand fans!


Retro Walt Disney World Fan


A handheld fan is waved back-and-forth by the user to create an airflow which increases evaporation and cools the users skin. Disney's folding hand fans are a semi-circular design made of thin nylon cloth circle and mounted to colorful plastic slats that revolve around a pivot so that the fan can be closed when not in use. Being that I was shopping in September my hand fan saw quite a bit of use!

Plus... they're just plain fun.

I found this collection of folding hand fans at BoardWalk's Screendoor Shop, then saw another grouping of different colorful designs (including an Orange Bird Fan) over at the Disney's Grand Floridian Resort and Spa.
