Now that the reimagined Disney Magic has set sail once again, reviews of the delicious new menus are trickling out to the internet. Our friends over at the Disney Food Blog shared some information with us about the tasty treats that are in store for guest taking to the high seas for some Disney fun.
The most spectacular of the dining makeovers is the brand new Disney Magic restaurant replacing Parrot Cay, called Carioca's. This Brazilian eatery was inspired by the streets of Rio de Janeiro, and visitors that have been to the Marvelous City will recognize design elements helping to transport guests for a culinary journey. Carioca's is serving up some delicious specialties with South American and Cuban inspired flavors such as the Argentinian beef empanadas with red chimichurri, the slow-roasted pork belly with crushed sweet potato and grits, and the fried plantain and Malanga Pancakes just to name a few. Seafood and vegetarian items are well represented, and there are even a few special "late night" selections.
The Animators Palate continues its colorful meal service that takes guests from sketch to art from full fledged features. Added to the entertainment is the new Animation Magic show - also used on the Disney Fantasy - where guests have the opportunity become "Disney Animators" and see their own artwork, drawn at the beginning of the meal, come to life in an on screen parade at the end of the service. It's a bit of magic that will delight Disney fans of all ages. The new menu includes family favorites that will appeal to a broad range of guests with classic dishes such as Pennete Bolognese, Herb and Dijon Crusted Veal Chop, Shrimp Salad, and a White Chocolate Fudge Cheesecake.
While Lumiere's remains largely unchanged the menu continues to be a delicious tribute to French cooking with some fun twists. The Lobster Mac & Cheese, Crispy Duck Breast, and Filet Steak are sauced to perfection. As with the other menus there are several selections here that offer choices for guests wishing to make health conscious meal choices.
Palo got a cosmetic make-over with new decorative touches that pay homage to Venice, with a colorful river of glass winding like a canal across the ceiling, red and white striped poles, and a spectacular collection of venetian masks. The Northern Italian cuisine at the adults-only Palo remains spectacular and is a worthwhile venture for any guests onboard the Disney Cruise Line.
