Take Away Tips For Meals From Disney Springs

Food to go, it's something we all indulge in wether it be at home or on vacation. Sometimes you just want to head back to where it's comfortable and not have to worry about going out again. When it comes to food to go however, some snacks meals just travel better than others. Over the past several years I've picked up many snacks and meals to go from several Disney Springs restaurants. What you'll find below are my favorite for maintaining fresh flavor even if you're not eating them until hours later.

Fast Snacks To Have In Room

Snacks at Walt Disney World tend to fall on the sweet and instant side. With a little pre-planning you can pick up some munchies at Disney Springs to take back to your room for later that aren't quite so sinful. While I have included some of my stable sweet favorites, you can also find some savory and dare I say even healthy choices.

Meals To Go For Later

When choosing a meal to go, I find that it's best to keep things simple. Chose something with minimal components that is either hot or cold (not both together) and comes in packaging that is going to help maintain the food's integrity. While you can get a "to go box" at all the Disney Springs restaurants, the generic styrofoam variety tend to leave food a wet and soggy mess. Packaging does actually matter.

Things to Avoid

There are a few things that I thought would be good, I now put in my avoid at all cost column. Disney Springs has so many options, but it's best to avoid these take away pitfalls.

  • Patisserie from Amorette's often includes components that melt in the heat.
  • Pastas with sauce can be difficult to carry back to your room.
  • Hot Sandwiches or Burger toppings and buns lose their appeal fairly quickly during transport.
  • Salads that come pre-dressed will wilt before you can eat them.
  • Thin crust pizza gets soggy when steaming inside its box.
  • Seafood is a big no.
  • Fries are never fun to eat once cold.

Next time you're out at Disney Springs and considering a nice quiet night at the hotel, think ahead and pick-up a great take away meal for later. It's an easy way to extend that chill and relax on your vacation. I hope I have offered you some great dining ideas for lazy night in Disney Style.
