Disney's Beach Club Resort has long been a favorite on my list of must-stay-here Disney resort. The Deluxe hotel ranks high on my list of favorites thanks its location, amenities, recreation, and some of the dining. Today we'll look at what there is to love about the resort.
Top on my list of reasons to love Beach Club has to be the location. The resort is a short walk away from Epcot, which is great if Epcot is a park where you like to spend a lot of time. And if you aren't up for a walk you can always catch a ride on a Friendship Boat to the park. The boats also take guests to the BoardWalk, Disney's Swan and Dolphin, and Disney's Hollywood Studios.
I love that you can take a short walk to Epcot (and back to the hotel in the afternoon for a dip in the pool). And if you're craving some delicious ice cream you're a quick walk or boat ride from Ample Hills Creamery at Disney's BoardWalk.
The location also makes for some great views, day or night (if you have a room facing Crescent Lake). The views of Crescent Lake are lovely in the morning when the resort is waking up and at night the sparkling lights of the BoardWalk are just stunning. And if you're lucky you might even catch a glimpse of IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth at Epcot.
Next on the list of things to love about Beach Club is Stormalong Bay. This 3-acre swimming pool is more like a water wonderland thanks to the sandy bottom, lazy river, and the water slide, one of the highest on property. The slide is housed in a shipwrecked pirate ship too!
Stormalong Bay is one of the best swimming pool on property (OK, it's the best). There's ample seating in the sun and the shade, and Hurricane Hanna's Grill is nearby if you're in need of a drink or a quick meal.
Speaking of food, you'll find a few good choices at Beach Club. If you're craving ice cream you must visit Beaches and Cream - home of the famous Kitchen Sink Sundae. The menu at Beaches and Cream also features burgers, grilled cheese, and other soda shop fare.
Cape May Cafe (located inside the hotel) is home to a fun character breakfast every morning, and for dinner you can enjoy a New England-style clam bake buffet. The character breakfast is one of my favorites on property and if you like seafood you'll want to check out the dinner buffet.
Quick service at Beach Club is inside the Beach Club Marketplace and it's nothing special. You can fill your refillable mugs here and get a quick grab-and-go meal. The food isn't necessarily bad but the location always feels as if it was an afterthought, built in the back of the merchandise location.
The themeing of Beach Club is subtle, much like Yacht Club next door. The lobby is quite pretty with a beach-y theme that is both welcoming and relaxing. Like Yacht Club, the lobby at Beach Club makes me want to sit back and relax for a while.
If you're looking for a Deluxe resort that is close to two theme parks, home to some good dining choices, and a great pool then Beach Club is definitely worth checking out.
