The newest restaurant at the Walt Disney World Resort is officially open. Trattoria al Forno, located at Disney's BoardWalk Inn, started serving guests on December 18 and is open for breakfast and dinner seatings.
The restaurant is located in the former location Kouzzina by Cat Cora, the latter of which closed on September 30 of this year. The interior of the restaurant is finished in earthy tones with wood and stone. Part of one wall in the entryway is stocked with wine refrigerators.
Inside the dining room guests will find an open kitchen where they can watch the food preparation happening. This is definitely the main focus of the dining room.
The backstory of Trattoria al Forno is that the family originally owned a boarding house on the Boardwalk but it was transformed into a dining establishment over the years. The different rooms in the restaurant reflect this story: the Cucina is the "original dining room," then Sala de Pranzo is the more upscale dining area, and the living room became the Salotto, and finally there is the Taverna area.
The menu at Trattoria al Forno features a wine list comprised of all Italian wines. There are more than 60 wines available by the bottle and about 30 wines available by the glass. Diners can also choose a wine flight to enjoy with their meal.
The dinner menu features appetizers, pizzas, and entrees. Appetizers include Venetian Mussels, a Regional Italian Soup of the Day, Fried Calamari, a couple of salads, and Grilled Treviso.
There are six different wood-fired pizzas on the menu including Margherita and a Truffle Cream pizza. The pastas on the menu are made in-house as is the fresh mozzarella. One of the pasta offerings is a seasonal risotto. Other menu items include the "carne and pesce" selections such as T-Bone Steak Florentine, Eggplant Rollatini, and Chicken Breast alla Parmigiana.
Fans of the whole-roasted fish from Kouzzia by Cat Cora will be happy to see that the item has made the transition to Trattoria al Forno.
The after-dinner menu includes a selection of Digestifs and Liqueurs in addition to coffees, espressos, and desserts. The dessert items include Tiramisu, a Signature Dessert, Gelato, and Lemon Panna Cotta.
Trattoria al Forno is open every day for breakfast and dinner and is on the Disney Dining Plan as one table service credit. Reservations are recommended.

Looks delicious! I'm a big breakfast gal so I'm going to put this on my "must eat at" list soon. Plus, I'm always up for more Italian food.
