The Trout Pass Pool Bar at Disney's Wilderness Lodge is a great spot to kick back and relax while taking a break from the rush of the Disney Parks. Located between the shores of Bay Lake and the Silver Creek Theme Pool, Trout Pass' seating area runs down the side of the building along a creek and extends behind offering plenty of umbrella shaded tables and chairs just off the beaten path.
Guests relaxing at the bar get a view not only of Bay Lake but also of Fire Rock Geyser, that will faithfully go off shooting magnificent streams of water into the air every hour on the hour from 7am-10pm. Wildlife also enjoys this beautifully landscaped shoreline and it's not unusual to see birds wading in the Imagineer-made creek. The bartenders here are friendly and attentive as they serve up the standard Disney Pool Bar Cocktail menu.
Things to keep in mind when planning a visit. The tables at Trout Pass do not provide an adequate view of the pool to keep an eye on swimming children. However the Silver Creek Springs Pool does have many tables and chairs around it for adults to relax with a cocktail while the kids swim in eyesight. The slightly out of the way nature of Trout Pass Pool bar does allow it to include a smoking area behind the building, so if you are sensitive to that be sure to you should get a table closer to the front. Trout Pass is also very close to the Wilderness Lodge Fire Pit, where they have a marshmallow roast every night!
As it turns out, the Trout Pass Pool Bar is a great spot to have a meet-up with friends and family traveling at the same time as you! In July I attended a friend's Disney Fairytale Wedding, she held her welcome dinner there with great success. The group gathered at a designated time, and the Bride had sandwiches, salads and sweets catered and delivered to us by Downtown Disney's Earl of Sandwich (a minimum order applies to deliver, contact EoS for details). Guests were able to use the bar services to purchase beer and cocktails as we liked. Even with a large group of people, we weren't overwhelming the space or taking up to much room and there was plenty of space for other guests not with our group.

A buddy of mine went down to see a shuttle launch (which was cancelled to bad weather) one February. We were staying at Wilderness Lodge we would go to the pool bar every day when coming back from the parks. We were typically two of six or seven people there . The weather was crummy all week. But we got to talking to the bartender everyday. His name was Stuart (sp?) but he was funny and great conversationalist. We still talk about that part of the trip to this day.
