Are you looking for ways to cut down spending time in lines at Walt Disney World? FastPass+ has long been a useful tool for cutting down ride queue times. Always looking for a way to improve guest experience, there's now a way that you can cut down time waiting in line for a counter service meal as well! Thanks to the MyDisneyExperience app, Mobile Order is available in several Disney Parks locations. Let's take a closer look!
Order ahead and save time. All you need is your phone and the My Disney Experience app. There are more than 25 different Disney counter service restaurants that have a mobile order option, and more are being added all the time at both Parks and Resorts. We checked out Mobile Order with MyDisneyExperience at Satu'li Canteen in Pandora at Disney's Animal Kingdom.
Just open up your MyDisneyExperience app and log in. Tap "Order Food." Next, choose the available restaurant you want to eat at, and then browse the menu and make your selections. In-app mobile ordering even allows you to customize certain menu items to make them more to your liking. Review your details, and then make your purchase using a credit card, debit card or Disney dining plan meal/snack credits.
Do you have special dietary needs? Recently Mobile Order Menus at the majority of the participating restaurants now include allergy-friendly menu listings. Plus - more enhancements to the program are in the works.
Overall the app was easy to use, we both placed our order at Satu'li Canteen and paid for it while waiting in queue for Flights of Passage.
After we got off of the ride we simply strolled over to the canteen and re-opened the app. We simply tapped the "I'm Here, Prepare My Order" button, to let the kitchen know we had arrived. We found a table and took a short break while we waited for the app to notify us our food was ready at the counter with the "Mobile Order Pick Up" sign. The Satu'li queue is clearly marked for Mobile Order pick-up and it was easy to find.
I'm glad to see Disney keeping up with trends in mobile ordering that many of us use in our everyday lives. Would you like to see a step-by-step guide that walks you through Mobile Order in the MyDisneyExperience app? Head on over to the Disney Food Blog and read their Step-By-Step Guide To Mobile Ordering. You can also find a current list of all participating restaurants there.
