Like many Disney fans I have a bookshelf full of Disney titles from authors of yesterday and today. I'm always looking for a new text to dive into and Samland is a frequent stop in my quest for information on great Disney Books to pick up.
Now, I'm excited to say that coming in October there's a new book from Ayefour Publishing and author Sam Gennawey that will offer us a book of his own to take a look at Walt Disney's "vision for the city of tomorrow."
WALT AND THE PROMISE OF PROGRESS CITY
by Sam Gennawey with Forward by Werner Weiss
Walt Disney's vision for a city of tomorrow, EPCOT, would be a way for American corporations to show how technology, creative thinking, and hard work could change the world. He saw this project as a way to influence the public's expectations about city life, in the same way his earlier work redefined what it meant to watch an animated film or visit an amusement park.
Walt and the Promise of Progress City is a personal journey that explores the process through which meaningful and functional spaces have been created by Walt Disney and his artists as well as how guests understand and experience those spaces.
Be sure to visit Ayefour Publishing or Amazon.com to get your copy. Available October 2011!
