Walt Disney World Celebrates National Veterans and Military Families Month

November is National Veterans and Military Families Month and honor current, past and fallen military heroes. Earlier this month "The Thunderbirds" U.S. Air Force Air Demonstration Squadron flew over Walt Disney World Resort performing two passes above Spaceship Earth at EPCOT, including the famous "Delta Break" maneuver.

The Walt Disney Company founders, Walt and Roy Disney, both served the United States in uniform during World War I. Recently the Walt Disney Company has been a leading proponent of hiring, training and supporting military veterans with the Heroes Work Here initiative, the Heroes Supply Here program and Disney Veterans Institute.

When it launched in 2012 Robert A. Iger said "Our Heroes Work Here program not only helps us find and hire highly qualified veterans, it also supports veterans and their families as they transition out of the military. We're happy to share what we've learned with other organizations so that more of these modern-day heroes have the tools and opportunities to build meaningful careers in the private sector."

On this Veteran's Day we here at Walt Disney World for Grown-ups want to thank all of those who served their country so that others may live free. Your contributions to making are appreciated more than words can express. Happy Veteran's Day.
