Walt Disney World Guests Have a Chance to Meet Chefs who Created Holiday Gingerbread Displays

One of the most festive holiday displays at the Walt Disney World Resort are the gingerbread displays set up at select resorts.

To celebrate these beautiful (and probably delicious) creations, guests will have the chance to meet the chefs behind the displays.

The chef meet-and-greets begin November 15 with pastry chef Jeff Barnes at Disney's Contemporary Resort from 5-7 p.m. On November 16, guests can meet executive chef Erich Herbitschek from 1-2 p.m. at the Grand Floridian. Pastry chef Deran Lanpher will be at Disney's Beach Club Resort on November 18 from 1-2:30 p.m., and last but not least pastry chef Matt Avery will be at the Boardwalk on November 29 from 1-5 p.m.

Another way Disney is celebrating the annual gingerbread displays is with new limited-edition pins inspired by the creations. The Disney pastry chefs actually selected each of the characters on the pin designs.

The Grand Floridian pin celebrates the 15th anniversary of the resort's gingerbread house, while the pin for Disney's Contemporary Resort features the five-legged goat from the Grand Canyon Concourse mural. And, the gingerbread pin for the Boardwalk features Mickey Mouse in his soda shop gear.

The commemorative pins can be found at their respective resorts beginning November 24, except for the Boardwalk pin which will be available on November 29.
