There's a party going on and you're all invited! April April 22 to April 28, 2013 Walt Disney World Resort is celebrating the 15th Anniversary of Disney's Animal Kingdom Park by throwing a "Party for the Planet." Come join the festivities centered around this Earth Week event and meet some of your favorite Disney Characters, purchase collectable merchandise, then try out some sweet treats!
Disney Character Dance Party
The party kicks off with a character reunion, all week long you'll find some rarely seen Disney Characters making cameo appearances in Mickey's Jammin' Jungle Parade at Disney's Animal Kingdom park.
You may even find such fan favorites as Lilo & Stitch, Flik & Princess Atta, Koda & Kenai, and Thumper & Miss Bunny as they march along, and then join them in Dinoland, USA for a dance party hosted by DJ Dino-Mite. Come ready to boogie!
Commemorative Merchandise
If shopping is your favorite way to celebrate, head over to Creature Comforts where you can buy celebratory clothing, commemorative pins, limited edition Vinylmation figures and other once-in-a-lifetime merchandise you won't find anywhere else.
Can't make it to Florida for the occasion? Take advantage of a special opportunity to order an exclusive 15th Anniversary T-shirt from the DisneyStore.com Parks Authentic Collection... but get yours fast - the T-shirt will only be available from April 22 to April 24, 2013!
"Dig Up" Something Delicious
Kids always have fun with Worms & Dirt, and they're even better in cupcake form! This cupcake topped with a teensy flower pot and gummy worms is on the menu at ABC Commissary, Pizza Planet, Backlot Express, Studio Catering Co. and Starring Rolls Cafe at Disney's Hollywood Studios, and Kusafari Coffee Shop and Bakery and the espresso and coffee cart at Disney's Animal Kingdom.
If your looking for something a little more decadence, the Worms & Dirt Tart is rich chocolate topped with a smiling strawberry, fresh raspberries, and chocolate cookie "dirt" crumbs. This rich treat can be found at Tony's Town Square and Liberty Tree Tavern in Magic Kingdom Park, Kringla Bakeri Og Cafe and Sunshine Seasons at Epcot, and Capt. Cook's at Disney's Polynesian Resort.
It sounds to me that Disney's got a rockin' Party for the Planet planned that will keep guests celebrating all year long! What are you most looking forward to?
*As with all things Disney, events and characters are subject to change. Remember, it's "Limited Time Magic" and menu items are subject to availability.
