If you are looking for a stress-free way to plan your next Disney World vacation then booking a Disney vacation package might be worth looking into. Disney vacation packages are a great way to book your accommodations, park tickets, and dining quickly and easily.
Disney's vacation packages are known as Magic Your Way packages. The basic Magic Your Way package includes accommodations at a Disney-owned-and-operated resort hotel and Magic Your Way base tickets for everyone in the group.
Add-ons to the basic package include different levels of the Disney dining plan, a Wine and Dine plan that includes a bottle of wine each night, and premium and platinum level packages that include tickets to La Nouba, theme park tours, and more!
Disney World packages must be booked through the Walt Disney Travel Company. The WDTC rules about advance payment, cancellations, and changes are much more stringent than those associated with "room only" reservations so if you need a vacation with flexibility in those departments than I would recommend against a vacation package.
Ways to Save
Vacation packages are designed for convenience and not for savings so buying a package at a non-discounted rate won't guarantee that you have gotten the best deal. We have some ways to save on vacation packages here for you to consider.
Longer visits vs. shorter visits. You are going to get a better deal on a longer stay versus a shorter stay. The cost per day is cheaper when you buy more a longer vacation, for example a 5 to 7 day vacation, than a 3 day vacation.
Promotional Offers. Disney offers different promotions to entice visitors during certain times of year, generally the slower times. If you are flexible with your travel dates then adjusting your vacation to fit into one of these times is a great way to save!
Bounceback Package Offers. Disney will sometimes extend a promotional rate known as the Bounceback rate to guests staying at a Disney resort. To qualify for a bounceback rate guests must book their next vacation before checking-out of their Disney resort and a $200 deposit is required.
Have you ever tried a Magic Your Way vacation package? Would you recommend it? Any tips for saving on a vacation package?

We use this all the time now, Kasey. I like that I can play around with it online and check out a variety of options before booking. And it really is so easy. So I recommend it, especially if you are a fan of one-stop shopping like I am.
One tip I would throw out is to have some flexibility, like you mention. If you are intending on staying at a moderate, price out a few different ones for the same time period. Sometimes one might actually have a slightly better rate or offer than another.

We always book the magic your way package and I do it directly through Disney. I really like how you can go on the disney web site and compare your options of resorts. JeffC is right often another resort may have a better rate. I love to save money so coming up we will be vacationing and taking advantage of the free dining plan. We took advantage last October as well and it saved us well over $700.00! I did recently also discover that if we buy and annual pass since we go twice a year we could save $300.00 there as well.
