"What's your favorite Disney resort?" A tough question, huh? We asked that question on our Facebook page recently. (Have you "liked" us yet?)
Starting with Deluxe resorts, many were mentioned.
The Polynesian Resort garnered 6 votes. Rachel G. said, "Poly....hands down!! Aloha!"
The Grand Floridian gathered 5 votes. Amanda B. said, "The little snacks on the concierge level are AWESOME. Plus the band and the piano music at night is amazing-a really nice thing to come home to after a crazy day at the parks."
Wilderness Lodge got 7 votes. Gina P. said, "Being DVC members we usually stay at OKW but my favorite resort is the Wilderness Lodge."
The Beach Club got 3 votes, and The BoardWalk Inn garnered 2 votes.
Aninmal Kingdom Lodge, however, knocked all the deluxe resorts out, with 9 votes. Jeanne C. put it best when she said, "What a crazy question???? Of course the one and only AKL."
Sadly, Yacht Club and Contemporary were left out of the mix altogether.
Of Disney Vacation Club resorts, Saratoga Springs and Old Key West each received 2 votes. Bay Lake Towers garnered 3 votes.
Of moderate resorts, Caribbean Beach Resort was voted for 3 times. But it was Port Orleans, namely Port Orleans Riverside, that got the most chatter, with 10 votes.
And of value resorts, All-Star Movies received 2 votes. Perennial favorite Pop Century is the value resort winner, with 8 votes. Jenn H. said, "We always stay at Pop Century. My kids ask for it!"
Finally, Fort Wilderness campground and cabins received 2 votes.
The overall winner? Port Orleans! Animal Kingdom Lodge gets the silver medal, and Pop Century the bronze.
Michelle J. said of the winner, "Of the ones I've stayed at it would be Port Orleans as a whole, Riverside is just so beautiful and the new rooms at French Quarter are the best."
Some more thoughts from our Facebook page, from those who cast multiple votes:
Katie M.: "Depends on how we travel. Staying at a DVC we choose BLT (where we own). Deluxe Resorts we would choose Wilderness Lodge. Moderate we would choose Port Orleans French Quarters. Value we would choose Pop Century. We love all of those resorts so depending on how we travel you would find us at one of those."
Terri S.: "Wishing we could afford to look into to staying at the deluxe resorts, but we've gotten great service at the budget (Pop Century) & Moderate (Carribean & Riverside). Personally, loved Carribean's environment, just not the transportation."
Gale M.: "Well if I had money I'd love to stay at the the Grand Floridian or Polynesian, because they are so beautiful and close to Magic Kingdom. I have stayed at both the Caribbean bBeach and Pop Century, and I have to say Caribbean Beach is my favorite followed very closely by Pop Century, which is also a great place to stay. In fact we are going there in November."
Marie A." "Depends. If it is a romantic getaway it is the Boardwalk. If wanting more of a need a place to crash because we are doing the parks from rope drop to closing, it is Pop Century. A family vaca where we are all going in different directions at any moment it is a cabin at Fort Wilderness. But we love and have stayed in many of them and love them all!"
If you had to choose JUST ONE resort as your favorite, which one would it be? Now, take cost out of the equation. Which one is your favorite NOW? Leave a comment below!

Polynesian!!!! Before I bought into DVC, that's where I stayed. I haven't thought about buying more points, but if they somehow converted part of the Polynesian to DVC, I would seriously considering buying into it!!

Already answered on FB, but since you asked... :-) POR, hands down. As for Values, it's a toss up between POP and All Star Sports. Pop has the more fun theming and the best food court on property (and, hello? super comfy, private, deep booths), but All Star Sports is so laid back, and after a hard day at the parks, laid back is very refreshing!

AKL by far. I think it offers the most when it comes to extra entertainment, has the best food restaurants, and an amazing view of the animals! Also some of the better pools as well.

Considering it's location, Boardwalk Resort is the overall winner for me.
But as a stand alone resort, the Animal Kingdom Lodge is unbeatable.

I've been to WDW nineteen times and have stayed at every resort.
My favorite has to be the Bay Lake Tower at the Contemporary. Room was comfy and spacious. Pool was awesome, kids loved the big waterslide. Service was fantastic. Chef Mickey's is our favorite restaurant in Disney World. Transportation was quick. BLT is my favorite.
My least favorite is Fort Wilderness Campgrounds. Terrible, just awful. Our neighbors at the campgrounds always seemed creepy and dangerous, and the beds in the cabin were not comfortable - NOT AT ALL. We discovered bed bug bites our second morning there, took off the covers, and discovered blood stains from bedbugs. The restaurant was awful and not kid-friendly.
We also do not like any of the Value resorts. All-Star Music is the second-to-last on my list of favorites. Bedbugs there too, service was terrible, and the food was bad.
I don't like Sports, Movies, or Pop Century either.
