We haven't been to Universal/Islands of Adventure in about 7 years, but we are going for one day this fall. Besides Wizarding World, any must-do's I'm forgetting? I remember loving the Jurassic Park Ride.

Coincidently we are going to go to Universal for the first time in about 7 years ourselves this coming November, in fact I have already purchased and printed our tickets.
If you're going to be there in October then you may want to check out HHN, but only if that's your cup of tea. It's certainly not for everyone.
Spiderman is one of my favorites along with the roller coasters.
We did US back in 2008, not IOA and while we liked some of teh rides decided we won't be back, it lacks that "Disney Magic". However we do have to go to IOA for Harry Potter now, so we are toying with just doing IOA or getting US tix again for those rides we did enjoy, such as Shrek and the Mummy.
Wishin' I was at WDW!
You could go watch Impact Wrestling (Use to be TNA)... lol
Im hoping to do that next year... heh

If you really want to do the Universal rides I would get a two park 1 day pass so you can do IOA and then hit the few rides you want at US. Especially in the fall it shouldn't be crowded enough to need a 2 day pass...and if you are really worried you can buy a fast pass for most of the rides (not Harry Potter).
The Mummy and Spiderman are must do's IMO. If you like coasters then The Hulk is awesome.
I can only please one person per day. Today isn't your day... tomorrow doesn't look good either.

same here....I thought TNA was short for something else!
We still enjoy the Dueling Dragons coaster, and The Hulk is pretty cool too. I agree with the 2-park 1 day pass idea - that's what we do when we go. And good idea going int he fall - when we go in April/May we inevitably hit busloads of high schoolers on class trips - my own little hell on earth....

Ok, so here is my question..I haven't been to Universal in 15 years...is it do-able in one day for someone who hasn't been in that long?
I think it depends on what time of year you go. Fall is great because its not crowded and usually not that hot. But I think your trip is scheduled for May...right? It shouldn't be too bad if you go on a weekday but to ride everything in both parks is going to be a non-stop day. I might pick whichever park has more rides that you want do and just stick to that one simply because its going to be hot and busy (not super crowded but busy), or decide which rides at each park you have to hit and stick to that plan. If you are going for one park I would pick IOA...Harry Potter, Spiderman, the Hulk, and Jurassic Park are all a lot of fun! And they have a Dr. Suess land for kids!

Thanks everyone...we really only have one day to do Universal/IOA, so now I have to decided what we will do!
It's so funny...I live in Orlando, and I haven't been to Universal in 12 years! The last time I went was for an employee preview of IOA - it was getting ready to open, and DH worked at Emeril's at the time, so we got in for free. We rode all the biggies, and spent some time in the Dr. Suess area. I'd like to get back, but all of my free time/extra $$$ go for Disney!

Thanks KayB & Tony..we wouldn't be going this trip anyway..we need to wait until we can talk the grandparents into coming with us or wait until the boy is older. We are jonesing for some Harry Potter Land..
I had two days there and did not need two days. It was August and there were no lines at the original universal- the HP lines were quite long but we managed.
Don't Miss:
Spiderman
The mummy
HP Forbidden Journey
Popeye & Pluto's Bilge Rat Barges (if you don't minf getting soaked!)
Men In Black
Revenge of the Mummy
*Blues Brothers Music Show
Some of these are Universal and some are IOA.
Enjoy!
Chip you made me happy,
we bought 2 day passes, but really only figured for 1 full day and this is for the beginning of september.

That is what I purchased as well for our upcoming trip in November.
Yeah- we flew through Universal Studios in like 2 hours. We had been when we were younger and some things were just bad then so they had to be worse now! We barely waited on a line (5 min?).
IOA there were lines but we knew what attractions we wanted to hit....Hulk, HP, Spiderman. It would be one busy day but it can be done. If you have the two day pass you may spend some more time at IOA because those lines were a bit longer.
Advice, if you go early AM, eat at your hotel first. NOTHING inside the park at Universal Studios opened until like 10:00 and we were starving since we were there for opening. It was awful.
