30 days to go!

clapping
OK. We are thirty days away and are really having a hard time concentrating on much else. waiting
We love the signature dining so our evenings are typically quite structured. Of course, all the ADRs are made and this is the schedule we decided on:

Monday = Arrival night is unstructured. Will get to resort about 6:30; so we may be tired from flight (6 hours/from west coast) but if we feel energetic, we will head to HS for something quick AND some Magic Hours! Or we may just relax at the CBR! Nothing wrong with a cocktail and a beach chair to start things off right!

Tuesday = Jiko. We love AKL!

Wednesday = Narcoossee's. Never been, but like the looks of the menu and the view!

Thursday = California Grill. Always. Go. Here. Love. It.

Friday = Bistro de Paris. Another new experience!

Saturday = Victoria & Albert's. Exquisite.

Sunday = Citrico's. Always a favorite.

Monday = Garden View Tea Room. A slow, relaxing end to a what will be a great vacation!

There will be a breakfast thrown in somewhere, but is a surprise . . . crossfingers

So excited for you! And also a bit jealous of your California Grill ADR. I'm dying for some of their sushi!

What time is your Narcoossee's ADR?

7:05pm. We are hoping to have a great dinner and then relax on the Poly beach for Wishes. We may head over to MK for the 10:00 fireworks, if we feel up to the crush, but we have a couple other nights scheduled for fireworks if we don't!

Do you like Narcoossee's?

I have enjoyed both meals there, but I always get the filet which is kind of a waste of Narcoosee's. I actually really like the vibe there as well. Was just curious if your ADR was late enough to watch the fireworks from the Narcoosee's patio. It's not a bad view! (Not as good as the beach IMO, but different which is nice) Do you like crab cakes? Everyone's a fan of them there?

Really nice ADR list Ollie! Have you ever tried the Flying Fish! If your as into the signature dinning as we are you should like thatt too! Service and the food there is beyond compare. If it was not for the California Grill's view, I would put Flying Fish on the top of my list.

Ooh! Fabulous! I can't wait to hear about these meals, especially Narcoosee's and V&A's since I've never been to either! What are you most looking forward to, or could you say?

We are a bit early for the fireworks since they fire at 10:00, but we just can't find the strength to eat later. Makes us sad. . . wink
And I love crab cakes and may give them a try! Will let you know!

We are so looking forward to V&A and Bistro de Paris. I admit we have eaten at V&A once, but it was SO good, such an amazing experience that it was the ADR we planned all others around this time!!

Oh mrhub. . . We did Flying Fish on our last trip and. . . We are from a BIG seafood area (Pacific Northwest) so while we enjoyed our meal there, it wasn't a big highlight. We feel much the same about Artist Point. Very good, but familiar. So we are opting for places that give us something. . . more surprising. Citrico's, Jiko, Narcoossee's, Bistro de Paris. . . And we had a less than delightful experience at Le Cellier on the last trip and probably won't go back there again, either. That made us sad, too.

OH -we are under 30 days now. . . clapping

I know what you mean about Le Cellier, we had the same type of experience there last time, we wont be going back there for a while. Friend from work is there now and just went there last night, said they were really disapointed.

I wasn't crazy about Le Cellier either. The food was good but I didn't find it anything special. My friends like it there so it is in the plans for November.

Really too bad for LeCellier. So many have loved it for so long . . . My first visit was that unimpressive visit last year and I was pretty disappointed. Had tried to get ADRs on every trip and that was the first time we got in.

We wrote the whole "Meh" off to 'fatigue' - they were just changing over to a signature venue and it looked swamped the night we were there. Did they change over to help the pressure? Had to be crazy there when it was still a single credit dinner.

This is really disappointing about Le Cellier! I've never eaten there, but I've always heard such rave reviews! Has anyone else been lately? What was your experience? What made it not so great?

Ollie, I just can't stop thinking about the fantastic line up you have. I really, really want to do V&A's. Lately, I've been concerned that the atmosphere might be a little dated or boring. What's the decor like?

Also, I definitely love the afternoon tea. We thought it very reasonable (for a special occasion anyway) and absolutely delicious.

Hi Lizzy B!

Le Cellier was crowded and cramped. Understandable because at that time it was still a one point and everyone wanted to be there. The biggest let down was the food. It was only OK. I've gotten way better steaks at some pretty "dive-y" places. Just didn't live up to any of the reviews I read. The cheese soup . . . Tasty, but "meh". The Maple creme brulle was really good, but not good enough to rescue the experience from the "OK" rating. It was not unpleasant or bad by any means, but with the tiny table, tight seating, wobbly chairs, and average food, I just won't go rushing back.

At V&A . . . The decor is a bit . . . Victorian meets 1980, but it is very understated and inviting. I wasn't bored - never had time to be bored! Muted colors in peachy and pinky and lace. Formal coats on the male waitstaff, long dresses with high necks on the waitresses. Medium stain wood panels and trim. So cozy! We are excited to go again! OH-last time there were baby Brussels sprouts on one of the courses. They were slippery little things and one went shooting off my plate, eek lost forever somewhere under foot. I told our server and suddenly a small bowl of them appeared on our table, compliments of the chef. muchlove They were so cute and so delicious

Ah - the Disney magic that Brussels sprouts become such a treasured memory!

You Must go. You'll never regret it!

Just wanted to let you know that the monorail is closed now...I don't know when it's reopening...Didn't want you to get down there only to find out it was closed and be disappointed.

The only thing we do is "grown up only"!!! awesome

Just two of us, no kids. We've been enough times to be less than 'commando' minded, so lazy mornings, strolling parks, finding benches to people watch, dole-whips. . .and signature dining! Our working life doesn't leave time or energy to get out, so vacations allow us to feel like real people! An absolute favorite thing is sitting near the water at DTD, sipping a cool beverage, or grabbing a hot dog & fries at Casey's in MK, and strolling toward Adventureland to get a dole whip for dessert!

Yes-it is all about the food! laugh

We may head out to Wide World of Sports this time. Spring Break softball games! For us, that is a luxury, and not so much about the food. wink

Ollie - have you had the corn dog nuggets at Casey's? I've added them (and fries) to my "must try" list this time - all the times we've been there we've never tried Casey's! I want to change that this trip biggrin

That is a good idea! Something to munch while strolling! We've really gotten to be all about the tasting and splitting of lunches and snacks. With sit downs saved for later evenings, we can be easier during the day!

And what can be bad about corn dogs? awesome

If your ever up for checking out the Poly, go around lunch time and stop at Captain Cooks and get the adult grilled cheese sandwich. That is really good.
