43 Days!!!

I can't believe I will be relaxing by the pool at the Poly in 43 days!
I am so dang excited! Waiting for this trip went much faster - probably
because I booked it in December, so I only had 4 months to wait and we
were just there in May '08

So,
I know you guys LOVE trip reports and well, I started a blog JUST for
Disney stuff, the trip reporting, the planning, etc. On this blog you
will find my 2008 trip (from ****) report and my current planning. I
will also be updating this blog in REAL TIME while at WDW this upcoming
trip - complete with photos!

OMG, Unbalanced Libra! You are checking out of the Poly on the same day I'm going there in the evening for dinner and electric water pageant, etc. I am so jealous that you are staying at the Poly. That really is my favorite resort. It's so beautiful. Nice blog--you have some very nice photos. I will be following your updates for sure. Be sure to post a reminder message before you depart.

So you bring your laptop with you to WDW? I have so far avoided bringing my laptop with me when I travel, because I'm really paranoid about it getting stolen or damaged in some way. Also not sure I'd even have time to update my blog while there. I think I'll just put up a Twitter feed on my blog and tweet my updates.

well, darn, we'll miss each other.

I take my laptop along - only because we usually wind up taking so many photos that by the middle of the trip we need to dump them from the camera to something, which ends up being my Macbook. I do not hook up to the internet though, I will use my Blackberry and update my blog that way, so the posts won't be long and the pictures won't be fantastic but it's a great way to update real time. I'll use Twitter as well.
Actually, I update via Ping.fm and then the updates are sent to other social media sites like Twitter and Facebook.

Then when I get back will do a complete trip report with good pictures like I did before

If you belong to several social networking sites, like say, Twitter, Facebook, Myspace, and Tumblr; instead of updating your status on each site individually, you just ost to ping.fm and it sends the update to all the others for you. You can even add ping.fm to your Yahoo messenger and post that way, LOL

That's one thing that Disney has over a lot of other vacation destinations--so much complexity that you HAVE to plan for a year...getting more and more excited all the while!

I just start finding which ones really have to get done before I go. And usually that list keeps shrinking, until I just procrastinate my way into the vacation. (Then get crushed by reality when I return)

We have to go shopping for some clothes - it'll be warm there and here it's still cold and I haven't done any spring/summer clothes shopping for the kids yet! We need to get those little odds and ends - plus since we're driving there we need to get snacks and juice boxes etc...

I am one of those people who must have a clean house when I return from vacation, so I will clean this house top to bottom before we leave!

polynesian is a great resort to stay in if you're going from cold to warm weather.

It also goes back to the thread we had going a while back about several short trips done more often than one long trip. If you can come home knowing that your next trip isn't THAT far in the future, you'll feel a lot better.
