Is this going to be more like Expedition Everest or Barnstormer thrill ride wise? Is this the official name for it? I thought I read somewhere this will be WDW's newest "Mountain". Any thoughts?

The original rumblings were something like Matterhorn. Now they're saying less intense but the cars will rock like a mine cart: http://www.insidethemagic.net/2012/12/walt-disney-world-offers-sneak-peek-at-seven-dwarfs-mine-train-with-new-virtual-ride-and-see-through-construction-walls/

What is Matterhorn like? Less intense than Space Mt or Thunder Mt?

My bet is it will really be a combination of the two. Though it looks like it will even have some orginal aspects as well.
From what ive seen from the movies and such. It should be like Big Thunder Mountain.

I too think its going to be more like Big Thunder Mountain. Every video I have seen so far looks that way.

Oh it better be!
Hey, your icon went sideways.

Yes, it's less intense than Space and Thunder... it's a fair bit slower than either of these and the twists and turns are gentler curves so you don't get that "whipped from side to side" feeling as much. Matterhorn takes you straight to the top (much like Space) and then you coast to the bottom, but there aren't any "ups" after the initial bit so you also don't get the stomach lurching bits like on Thunder.
I'd probably rank it about half way between a kiddie coaster and Space Mountain.
