Advanced Heads Up On Upcoming Hallmark Disney Ornaments Set

I received a preview look at the upcoming Disney Hallmark ornaments set (which might be separate from other Disney ornaments that Hallmark may release this year). I think this one is going to be a winner. There will be several Mickeys, etc., but there will be 2 Donalds and 2 Daisys (which is all we care about). Each of the ornament in the set will be released one at a time on different dates. The one that I couldn't understand is that the last of the ornament will be released in July 2015!

The set will start to be released starting in July this year. The entire set will be shown in the upcoming Hallmark Dream Book catalog. But what caught my eyes even more than the ornaments is the ornament stand that will be sold separately. It is in the shape of a giant Mickey head! Holy crap, when I saw the picture of it, I wanted it.... until I saw the price: $49.95. Yikes!

Fortunately, the Hallmark store owner here told us that during the official release date, the stand will be sold at 50% off! Upon which I yelled "I'll take one!"

In any case, if you haven't heard about this, ask your local Hallmark store. The notice and e-mail for the new catalog will go out on the 15th of the month, if you are on their mailing list.

I found the online 2014 Dream Book catalog.

http://www.hallmark.com/keepsake-ornaments/dream-book/

The ornaments that are part of this set are on Pg. 86.

As I suspected, this is a different set than other Disney Hallmark ornaments that are shown in the earlier pages of the catalog. Unfortunately, they are not showing the ornament stand, which is what I want the most.

The first of the Keepsake ornaments (and other ornaments) will be released this Saturday. The Hallmark store near me is having a special event, with food and drinks no less. I believe this is where you can also get the Mickey Head ornament stand that will only be available to each store in very limited quantities (we already put dibs on two of them when we talked to the store owners).

We're off to go get our ornaments, and hopefully, two of those Mickey Head ornament stands! Will report back on what we got!

It was a hugely successful trip to the Hallmark store, and a rather expensive one as well!

We got the two Mickey Head ornament stands, and they were on sale at half off for this weekend only. They had 2 left when we left the store.

Our Hallmark store also had old ornaments for only $3 a piece! So we bought extra Perry and Pooh ornaments.

I will try, probably tomorrow. It requires a bit of assembly out of the box.

OK, as requested, here are photos of the ornament stand. I put a Disney resort mug in the photo since everyone knows the size of that mug, so that you can have an idea the size of the ornament stand.

This is the box it came in:

When you open the box, it requires a simple assembly:

And this is what it looks like fully assembled:

It is a nice stand, and I can think of using it everyday not just as an ornament stand. That's why I bought two.

Smile

The second ornament in this series is out - Chip n' Dale.

But here's an unexpected news that we just found out, and it has something to do with that Mickey Head ornament stand. It seems that Disney has decided that they want to sell both the stand and the Hallmark ornaments. So they have commandeered all the remaining Mickey Head ornament stands, and the Hallmarks stores are not going to get any more of them beyond what they had been allotted during the release weekend a while back.

Rumor has it that these stands have been spotted at the stores at the parks (can someone who is there verify this?), but without any of the Hallmark ornaments that were supposed to go with the stand. It is not known if Disney will sell the Hallmark ornaments all at once, or if they will release each one of them according to Hallmark's schedule.

If this is all true, this would be a first, because I don't recall Disney selling Hallmark ornaments in their stores or at the parks. Is it because they saw the merchandise and thought that it was way too good to pass up? The ornament stand was a clever idea that Disney should have thought of themselves.

So now, I'm glad I bought two of these stands, at a discount no less. I wonder how much Disney will sell it?

Wifey came home with 2 of the ornament stands last weekend. of course I have not put them together yet but they appear to be able to hold only the smaller Disney ornaments that we have. Zz have you tried putting any ornaments on it yet? Also ours are mostly Disney ornaments with a few Hallmarks scattered in.

No, I haven't. I'm going to put the many Mickey Head globe ornaments that I have, and they are on the small side that fit perfectly on the stand.

I think the series of ornaments that were advertized with the stand are the ones that will probably fit to go on it. The other regular Hallmark ornaments might be too big, except for a few.

Another heads up, in case you didn't get the mailings from Hallmark.

This coming Saturday, 10/4, is the release of a number of limited release ornaments, including a very nice one with Zero, which would be perfect for both Halloween and Christmas.

I'm glad I looked at the link. I forgot I put my name on a waiting list for the Olaf ornament at my local Hallmark store.

Just got back from the Hallmark store and talked to the owner. They are all set for the ornament release tomorrow. They also said that they're expecting another shipment of the Olaf ornament soon. The first batch were all spoken for a few weeks ago and they had very little left over, and this next shipment promises to also be that way.

BTW, we noticed that they have once again the ornament stands! This store has about 5 or 6. Of course, if you buy it now, you have to pay full price, whereas we got those at 1/2 off during the release weekend.

Did you get your Hallmark Ornaments today?

As expected, the Zero ornaments were all spoken for. But what was also moving fast was the Jungle Book ornament as well!

However, I also saw this and had to buy it. It's a stand, with a wire outline of the castle.

Hallmark often has nicer Disney merchandise than Disney Stores, especially for home decor.

If you have been collecting the ornaments in this series that go along with the Mickey head ornament stand, then you know that there will be only one more ornament to be released before it is done! While the ornaments are nice, the stand definitely is the best part of the whole thing. I've definitely decided not to hang these ornaments on that stand. Instead, I thought that it was more appropriate to hang the Mickey head globe ornaments on it, since they both match each other.

Here's a picture of what I did last holiday season if you missed seeing it in another thread.

I think a couple of my friends will be copying this for this year's holidays.
