Advice on booking airline

So we can book our airline tickets on June 4th. My mom is coming with us on this trip as well. My grandma has a ton of credit card points so offered to get her plane ticket for her but told me she couldn't book it till later in june. I'm going to call and check again on what the specifics are though. We would still get our tickets on the 4th when the booking window opens but my mom is afraid of waiting till she can get it with the credit card cause she is afraid that it will be sold out. What do you guys think? from your experience how quickly do flights book up?

A part of me still thinks it will be fine. I don't think it will be a problem... But I'd like to hear what others think though...

When are you flying? How much competition/flights between those destinations? How many airline miles does she have? Does she have elite status as a frequent flier? What airline is it? There are way to many factors to determine it. The flight probably won't fill up. Almost every flight has seats available if you are willing to pay a price. However there may be no more award tickets available or the number of miles/points could double or triple. The fewer number of flights, airlines and dates will increase this risk. If your flying around a holiday I would not risk it. If the airport only has 2 or 3 direct flights a day it might not be worth it. If you must be on the same flight and can't afford or don't have the points/miles/money to pay triple or double the normal rate I would not risk it. i booked my flight three weeks ago on the first day it could be booked. Already the flight price has doubled because they are the only airline that flies direct to Orlando. I am not even going during a busy period or over the holidays.

Knowing when you are flying to Disney, you should check with the airline or credit card company as that day may be blacked out.

Whenever I was trying to get my interview for WDW, I couldn't schedule my interview until 2 weeks prior, so I had to wait to buy my tickets. So we ended up buying my tickets less than 2 weeks before I flew and I was fine.

Since you're not leaving until November, I think that she'll be fine booking a couple of weeks later. I wouldn't worry at all about the flight being sold out until mid august.

For me, I find as long as I book 90 days out and am not picky about specific times, we are good. When I have timeframe I need, then I book earlier. Surprisingly enough, even from my city (which isn't a very popular airport for most travel) we still have a lot of choices for flights (that include a transfer somewhere)

We have not flown in years but I think the Sunday after Thanksgiving is suppose to be a very busy travel day.

And my grandma was able to get her ticket by using her credit card points so we are all set on the airfare Smile
