Just had an email from Disney that they are showing Aladdin this weekend on Disney Channel, Disney XD and Disney Junior in honor of Robin Williams.
thanks for letting us know
That's a nice gesture! I don't have cable/satellite but I am planning on watching Hook tomorrow night to honour him.
I have the DVR set.
I watched Aladdin this morning on Disney. It is so sad to know that he is gone.
I saw an interview with Robin Williams for the Actors Guild and he said that when they "let him loose" for the genie they had 16 hrs of material to edit from. (Although some of it was not appropriate LOL). Imagine if they just made him read from the script?
He was also asked how many different characters he played in the movie, and he honestly didn't know, but the commentator said 52, including all the impersonations. He also did all the recording between filming, Hook and another movie.
The movie was denied an academy nomination for best original screen play because William's adlibbed so much of the dialogue.
