All the Single Riders

I think that Test Track, Rock'n Rollercoaster and Expedition Everest all offer a single rider queues for people traveling solo.

Have you ever used the single rider queue? Do you feel that more attractions should offer this option? Which ones do you think that it would work best on?

That would be so nice! I am a solo traveller, and have always waiting in the full Q. Sometimes an eager person who is a third wheel with his/her party will jump in with me - that happened on Toy Story! And he kicked my tail, by the way. mickey

I've never actually gone alone but I've experienced the single rider cues on all three just because my sister and I loved to ride those rides multiple times, didn't care if we rode together, and the single rider cues went WAY faster!! I wish there was a similar cue for rides like Toy Story Mania and other big-tickets too (that actually need single riders...obviously wouldn't really work on, say, Tower of Terror!).

Ehhh... depends to me really. I rode Everest by myself once, but didnt know about the single rider line... so I went through the normal line. I ended up preferring it because I got to talk to people. So dont know? I would say for the busier rides in the parks... definitely. Its not fair for a single person to wait 2 hours for Toy Story Mania.

I've used the single rider line for EE. I think Soarin should have one too.

I love the single rider lines. My husband and I use them quite frequently. Most of the time, we end up on the same ride just not right next to each other. Its a huge time saver!

I don't do the single rider just because I don't want to ride the rides by myself...But I think they definately should add it to some of the bigger ticket rides for those who like the single rider line.

I gotta agree with Mase...standing in the lines along can really be quite fun. I love watching the kiddos get so excited, and also enjoy chatting with other folks. I am truly never lonely in the World - we are all enjoying it together. mickey

For those that may not understand, the single rider line is not for people that want to ride alone. It is to use the single riders to fill in the empty seats of a ride.

I've used Test Track's single rider line many times - when hubby and/or friends do Mission: Space or Soarin', I get in the Test Track single ride line. Also, when hubby and I are touring alone, he'll use the single rider lines for Expedition Everest and Rock'n Rollercoaster.

I generally like the advantage of the single rider line as long as the single rider rule is enforced. It ticks me off when people get to the loading platform, ask to ride together, and the CMs let them.

Could not agree more, that's just rude.

When I went on RRC there were a bunch of kids (I say kids but I mean teenagers) using the single rider line, and when they were assigned a lane they would wait in that lane for their friends and then join them. So they weren't filling empty spaces in the car, as the single rider line is designed to do. It kind of upset me so I said something to the guy at the end of the ride so he could radio to the guy at the front of the line.

we have used them, sometimes it can be quicker to do the single rider than getting the fast pass, i also think that all the rides should have a single rider line for the busier times of year

I love the single rider lines. I miss the one on TSMM. I usually do a few days solo when I'm in the parks and it works out very well.

I use single rider lines all the time since I am mostly a solo traveler. DL used to have a single rider line for Toy Story. When they got rid of it, I asked why and I was told by guest services that 'too many people complained of having to sit with a stranger.' Personally, I thought that was bull, but that's was the official response.

Soaring also had a single rider line for a while as well, but I was told by a CM that many times the wait on the single rider line was longer than the regular standby. Which I can understand. When you have long rows of seats, it's easier to mix/match odd numbers up and fill in the whole row.

I do wish more rides had single rider lines, I would use them.

thanks for the clarification on single rider lines Mr. Hub. mickey It does make total sense to fill in seats - and I never mind riding with anyone else. It is actually kinda fun at times. (OK, except when your seat mate clobbers you on TSM).

Hey Doc! I do the single rider line all the time on Everest, and have have heard CM's tell people in the single rider line that say they want to stay together that they have to get in the regular line to do that and won't let them get on from the single rider line. I love those CM's! If people would just follow the rules, thing would work so much better.

We usually don't use single rider lines, but this summer when we were on a time crunch (2.5 days) we did. Both times we got lucky and my husband and I somehow got put on together anyway!

We do the single rider all the time, and many times we are at least in the same car (rr and ee). I hate when people try to ride together also. people who think the rules don't apply to them drive me crazy, as I am a rules follower! We do the single rider at test track too. One time Mike was in a car with all people from Japan who were chattering away in Japanese and taking lots of pics. It was funny! sometimes we get in the same car on test track.
