I'll go on record as saying "gross"....haha. I didn't learn to like hot dogs until I was into my 30's, and I can't stray much from a hot dog with ketchup.
If I were a kid though and liked hot dogs, I'd be all over that mac & cheese one!
Well...the pork BBQ and cole slaw dog is almost the correct way to eat a hotdog (we usually just go for chili sans beans...but what the heck?)
West Virginians are VERY opinionated about hot dogs. And almost NO ONE prepares them correctly
I would try the pork BBQ and slaw hot dog.
I agree with Lizzy about the BBQ dog with cole slaw but I also Love a chili dog WITHOUTthe beans. Beans are just a filler and true chili has no beans, (IMHO). Trouble is you can't find it w/o beans anywhere.

I am quite in agreement with ya there - sans beans...no beans! Beans in my bowl of chili, yes! Beans on my chili dog, not so much
Hmmmm, from what I hear, you need to take a roadtrip to Texas! They are no-beans-in-the-chili-all-the-way-amen down there (over there?) from what I gather. I also really LOVE this recipe - it's become my go-to chili recipe, courtesy of The Pioneer Woman.
And just so none of my non-hot dog eating friends are too grossed out...we usually stick with Hebrew National. I feel a little better that I'm not getting too many mystery ingredients
You just knew there would have to be one in every crowd...I love chili dogs with slaw. I however want more beans less meat in my chili. There is just something about putting burger on a hotdog that sounds wrong to me lol.

I agree! Joe tries to sneak them in food when I am not looking - damn him and that immersion blender!!
West Virginians are VERY opinionated about hot dogs.
So are us folks from the Chicago area. Disney's "Chicago Style" dog is more Chicago inspired, and NOT "right" at all. I always giggle when people use meat as a condiment, so the BBQ pork dog at the very least has my interest. I may give it a try next month.

Ha - I actually had a WV-style hotdog - in Chicago! Cracked me up.
Bella wrote:Um. no thank you. I am so not a hot dog girl..did you notice there is truffle oil on the mac and cheese one? How classy! What is truffle oil?
One of the best things you will EVER eat. Very earthy, and unlike anything you have ever tasted. Not like a regular mushroom at all. We keep a stash of truffle oil and truffle salt on hand for garnishing; the truffle salt is VERY good on scrambled eggs. However...DD6 won't touch it. So it's def not for everyone.
OH - and I should add - truffle oil is made by adding truffle essence to oil, or by steeping truffles in oil. It's not actually the oil from a truffle (no oil there, actually.) Gives the flavor of truffle, which is usually served in thin shavings over a food as garnish, owing to its richness and exhorbitant price tag. I could go on ridiculously, but I will hush now.
I gotta do the mac and cheese dog
I have a terrible addiction to mac and cheese with hot dog pennies
