Alternate theme parks.

In case you want something a lilttle different, I spotted this today. And was fascinated! Though I am not sure it was fascination in a good way for some of these....

Anyone been to any of the more unusual ones listed?

Only one I knew of was Dollywood. Other than that... there are some weird ones, but would love to visit the dwarf one and Popeyes Village!

I actually went to Dollywood once when I was 19 (so, 1990?). It was interesting, but I was already a die hard Disney fan by then, so it didn't knock my socks off. The thing that I remember most is that they has a Bald Eagle sanctuary there and I had never seen a real one before. That was pretty cool and their nests are HUGE. I like Dolly, but then I was there for a family reunion and my Nana would have told you that she's part of "our people".

I went to Dollywood at least once a year from when I was like 6 until I was 18! I still love it too! Its pretty pricey, but everything is themed really well, like in Disney. And they have some awesome roller coasters and water rides. They even have their own water park.

I had just heard of Dickens World, or whatever it's called, and of course, I'd heard of Dollywood (we even got their commercials in Atlanta.) Oh - and Holy Land Experience, of course...that's right here. I've actually heard that it's really well done.

I went to Dickens World when visiting England. It was kind of cool... I mean I wouldnt plan a trip to go there, we just happened to be staying in the area and we decided to check it out.

Has anyone been to The Holy Land? When reading about it I couldn't believe that was real!

Interesting! I've actually been to the holy land experience in orlando. I thought it was interesting. Would i go back? Not any time soon. I think we did the whole place in half a day.

I've been to dollywood twice while in gatlinburg. They have great rollercoasters and we really enjoyed the atmosphere!

We used to have a place around here called Santa's Village. Most of it was christmas/santa themed. they had a Northpole that was a block of ice that stayed frozen all summer. you can visit santa all year round. his elves and mrs. claus was there. and instead of tea cups with a giant christmas tree with spinning snowballs.

The rest of the park wasn't as themed as that. Just your normal run of the mill carnival type rides.
