And now for a change of pace....Dining in Disneyland???

Okay guys - hit me!! What do you recommend noshing on when in Disneyland?? I'm arriving on a Thursday and will hopefully eat in the Downtown Disney area or a resort that night (unless there's an In and Out burger close by, then all bets are off!). Friday, Saturday, and Sunday are park days (with a half marathon thrown in, just so I earn my calories!). I'm looking for recommendations for both table and counter service, as well as snacks. Your favorites??

OH - and does anyone know if dinner at Goofy's Kitchen is a character meal?? I found the menu, but nothing about characters.

Ralph Brennan's Jazz Kitchen Express in DTD

Story Teller's Cafe at Grand Californian for my favorite Character Meals

Trader Sam's at the Disneyland Hotel is a fun bar with the best green papaya slaw ever

Rancho del Zocalo in Frontierland has table service food at Counter Service prices

Bengal BBQ in Adventureland is Meat on a stick, what more can I say

You also need to eat a Dole Whip in the Garden at the Tiki Room

Blue Bayou has great food, and amazing atmosphere but sometimes spotty service

I'm not sure what to say about California Adventure, I only remember the wine tasting patio laugh

P.s. - YES! Goofy's is a character meal and very tasty with a super fun atmosphere. I prefer the laid-back-ness of Storytellers though.

My husband absolutely LOVES the Blue Bayou. He used to love going there when he lived in California, and he took me there last year. It was dark, but the food was nummy. I liked being able to see the Pirates ride too Smile

We also got some Ghiradelli ice cream while at California Adventure, a nice break from the heat Smile we went in the summer.

And oh my goodness! I love In and Out Burger too! It's always been our first stop whenever we go to California Smile

I'm having breakfast after the 10k on Saturday at Steakhouse 55 and dinner post-race on Sunday at Wine Country Trattoria (to get World of Color seating).

In order to save some $, I think we're just doing counter service the rest of the trip.

Storytellers Cafe is delicious, we ate there for both the character buffet breakfast and at lunch. Highly recommend.

Wine Country Trattoria is good, I enjoyed the Tuscan salad with shrimp, my husband had the lasagna. Keep in mind that with the World of Color seating, your menu is limited and predetermined.

Steakhouse 55 is nice, items other than main item are listed as ala carte. It's a nice, dress nicely restaurant, be sure to enjoy the vintage pictures on the walls.

Blue Bayou wins for atmosphere, at least for me, and is the loser for food quality. It's been a couple of years since we ate there but their food was reminiscent of cafeteria food.

Highly recommend Big Thunder Ranch BBQ. Great food, cute atmosphere and all you can eat. They do close on rainy days, though.

Dole Whip at the Tiki Room is a must, better than from the Dole Plantation in Hawaii, IMO.

Enjoy!!!

Thanks BreauFam!! I did indeed make a ressie at Steakhouse 55 for the night after Tinkerbell. It's going to be a pricey meal, but it'll be a celebration!!!

I also ended up with Naples (pre-race carb meal!). I def have Dole Whip on my must do list. Trader Sams for bevvies right after my post-race nap and shower, Rancho de Zocale and Bengal BBQ are also on the list. I'm going to play the rest by ear. Thanks everyone for the suggestions!!
