Annual Passes the easy way

Those of you with annual passes will soon be able to buy them in installments instead of paying out the lump sum. It doesn't say if other discounts (like DVC members) can still be applied.

I couldn't tell from the article if the price is exactly the same. Is $521 the normal price now?

You'd think that would be the one that needed it the most.

This is a great incentive to get people to buy AP's. We had one for a year because it just worked out that booking a room with the AP discount and buying an AP was cheaper than any other price. Plus it meant we got to go more often!
Also, something deep down inside loved the feeling of knowing that if I could get there I could literally go to Disney ANYTIME I wanted to!

The article suggests it will be rolled out for all AP's eventually, not just Florida residents. It surely wouldn't be too difficult to include bi-coastal AP's then as I believe 'land already has the facility and 'world will be using a similar system.

They don't do anything lame like give you 2 different cards for the bi-coastal pass do they?

Do you usually do both resorts in one year?

I'm usually not a big fan of payment plans (encourages people to buy things we can't actually afford), but I could be swayed for the promise of a bi-coastal AP!

I'm wondering what happens if you don't pay? Do they send the Wicked Queen after you laugh laugh laugh
I think I am a lot funnier than I actually am.

Disney divides up your money into two piles:

The money they're going to take in the near future, and the money they're going to take later on.

I'm not ever sure how those things work...like on QVC -- the monthly payments. Do they have to come straight out of your credit card?

I would imagine that it would be fairly easy to suspend passes for someone who had stopped paying.

I wonder if that's the only penalty. Could I get it on installments and get all my usage in and then stop paying? (Not that I would do this)

My guess is that typically Disney thinks of everything..they probably have strict rules.
