Another Renovation At Wilderness Lodge..

Eeek...Just read today that Disney have applied for renovation work at WL..Seems it could be to do with turning some rooms into DVC..Will be keeping my eyes open for any more news on this..Although the main pool closure didn't spoil our fun last year, I'm hoping this isn't too much of an eye sore..Has anybody else heard anything about this renovation.?

Well if it's true, they should not be anywhere near the points that the Poly's are.

You're only old as you feel! laugh Some days are older than others. But I'm always a kid at WDW. It is truly a fountain of youth!

LOL, you and I are around the same age and we're piling on DVC resale points. The deeds will expire when I'm approaching 90, I figure that's just about perfect timing.

Yes I am! There is no real view, so I would hope they wouldn't be near what the Poly Bungalows are in points. But you know Disney.

Received E Mail today from a person on Wilderness Lodge unofficial site who got in contact with a CM at WL...She said some guests were trying to move resorts due to this refurb, but my question was about the boats to MK and was told that it won't affect sailing to MK...The beach area and little hidden pool and spa will be out of use,but this doesn't bother me, nor the nature trail or bikes..Kinda puts my mind at ease as we loved this resort last year, even tho the main pool was closed...

Latest story I've read was put on today ( Wednesday 22nd ) on the unofficial WL site...The person is obviously from UK and booked their entire package thro VA....But if what she said is true, that Disney would do there best to re accommodate you to another deluxe at their expense, depending on your dates and how much construction work is getting done, I think this is a very nice gesture...I'll be monitoring this refurb as the months go by...

Any more news on this? I was hoping to go on our Disneymoon to WL in 2016. I know they have construction going through 2017. I wanted to splurge because it was out Disneymoon and stay in the Villas. But maybe we won't be able to with the construction?

I got another e mail from a Disney rep who said there hoping by October 2016 most of the heavy work will be complete..We were there last year when the main pool was closed for a refurb, and to be honest, it never bothered us at all..I will be keeping an eye on the unofficial WL site..

Ok awesome so at the point we go they will probably actually be working on the rooms inside the buildings and not much going on on the outside. Awesome. I am getting excited now getting close to a year away!
