Any Cirque Du Soleil Advice?

We got tickets as a gift and were curious if there was anything we needed to know? Like best places to sit, or which time of day is the best, etc? Anyone got any tips?

Tip # 1 do not sit too close to the front stage. So much goes on over your head, high on trapeezes and such that you will have to look UP so much that you could actually get a stiff neck. Tip # 2 get there early because before the actual performance begins, the clowns are out there mingling with the audience so you get to see them up close and personal.

Totally agree we were close to the floor for a show and I would have liked to have been higher to see everything.

What do the clowns do while they mingle? That sounds great!

Is Cirque worth seeing? Dave and I have never really been into the idea but I keep reading about how wonderful it is.

Seriously go go go go go go. It's simply awe-inspiring. Very smart addition to Disney .

It's pretty amazing. I haven't been back since it first opened, but I def think it's worth doing at least once.

Definitely worth the price of admission, a really great show and a great experience.

I haven't been, either, but am really looking forward to it! Thanks for the info on the clowns before the show, Vette!

They change the routine every so often from what I hear, but it includes teasing a few members of the audience and they have a routine including some boxes that they are "attempting" to stack up that is quite funny.

Agreed. I probably would have missed that (if I ever go).

Interesting! Do you guys think a one and a half year old would like it? He likes looking at stuff moving around but I don't know if he could sit for that long.

I would suggest that if a child can sit through a whole movie without getting bored then they'd be OK, if they get fidgety after 1/2 an hour then I'd wait until they were older.

We've been to the show 3 times and it seems different every time because there is just so much going on during it! It's a great show and well worth it.

Bella, it's really engaging, but pretty long. I know I'd end up standing in the back with my little one, who's just a little younger than yours. Maybe next year?

These are great tips! Thanks!

If you're shy about attention are there any places you do/don't want to sit? For those who don't want attention are there parts of the show where they interact with the crowd?

Um...we were safe from attention smack dab in the middle of our section - middle of the section, middle of the row. And our seats were terrific, too - no neck craning.

Hi,

I went to Cirque Du Soleil: La Nouba on December 6, 2003, the 6:00 PM performance. Unlike anything you've probably ever seen, the show is a MUST-SEE at least once. "La Nouba" purportedly comes from a French phrase meaning "to live it up".

Yeah maybe next time is for the best..it might be too much for him now especially since it isn't cheap!

Brad I've only ever seen them interact with the people on the outside rows really.

We've seen 2 cirque shows in Vegas and one that toured locally in NJ and all 3 were WAY better done and less expensive than La Nouba. Cirque tours so often now I'd suggest not spending your precious Disney time going to La Nouba and see one on tour. For some reason La Nouba didn't seem to have the same high quality as the others. Sure it was good, just not nearly as good. I know I'm odd man out here on this, but my sister in law saw it along with some locally traveling ones as well and said the same thing. She hasn't seen any in Vegas though. We just felt like it didn't have the same precise high standard as the others, especially O and Mystere in Vegas.

If you do go, I agree about sitting further back, though if I remember right you have assigned seating, so if you were given the tickets you might not have a choice.

Do most of the other Cirque shows run as long as La Nouba has?

I think they tend to be a bit longer actually.

Interesting about the quality level. Has La Nouba been on longer than many of the other shows? I wonder if it might just be "tired."

Nope, we'd already seen Mystere and O in Vegas when La Nouba opened, so we were really excited to see it. That fell apart quite quickly once the show started. Don't get me wrong, it wasn't bad, it just wasn't as good.

We sat close to the top of the Mezzanine section and it was a great seat to see everything.
They even had an elevator to the top level for Mom. wheelchair

They give annual pass discounts and also florida resident discounts on the tickets. too.
If you don't qualify for those you can sign up on their website for free for a discount.
