Just had an earthquake on the East Coast here. 5.8 centered in Virginia. Felt pretty good shake here in SE PA. Who else felt it?

Yup, I felt it. I was in my office on the 3rd floor. Yelled at my co-worker to get in the door way. She then said don't we need to get in a tub I said no that's a tornado....lol. We then evacuated the building. I got off at 2:30 so I just left.
I kind of wondered how many people that got evacuated would just head home. My twitter stream went nuts, I felt bad for all the people who had never been in one before and were freaking out. A hurricane and earthquake in the same week, someone on the east coast made mother nature very angry.
What earthquake, didn't feel nuttin in NH
A coworker came over to me at my office and asked me if I felt the building move when it happened. I looked at her like she was crazy. But apparently it was felt here in Charlotte.
I felt it here in CT. They evacuated my building for a short time. I was having the "is that an earthquake or is there something wrong with me?" debate going on in my head. No one around me was saying anything. They all thought something was wrong with them. Finally someone said "is the building shaking?". I said "I'm glad it's not me; I think it's an earthquake".

My brother in Wilkesboro NC felt it.
Obviously, we felt it in Maryland! I had no idea what it was, just that my building was swaying side to side and I should not be in there (I work on the 8 floor of a very old 10 story building).
The epicenter was about an hour from me. I was happy no one was hurt, and I got to knock an item off my bucket list.

Well I'm going to Disney in a week I'm viewing it as the rides coming to me the week before vacation. First we get a shakey ride, then we get a water ride with special effects.

Ha! Now that's a fun approach to it! Your own pre-trip action!! Spoken like a true die-hard Disney aficionado.
Nothing in FL, I'm happy to report But then, we're more interested (kind of a, "hmmm...what's she gonna do?" approach) in Irene. Looks like she'll be a non event for those of us inland though...but we'll be happy for the rain (as long as it's not 20+ inches.)
I'm just looking at it this way, survived a heart attack & an earthquake in just over 1 week. Just need Irene to hit here and my "bad things come in three's" are done.

That's a good way to look at it.

Thats how I viewed my brake line, broken leg, and then radiator on my car. They were worried I had a head gasket leak too. Things come in threes though so I'm all done there. Irene could be interesting. I'm planning on going to my bf's and drinking a bottle of wine together, watching tivod movies and maybe playing violin.

Hi,
I work on the third floor of an extensively renovated post office building originally built in 1928. When the tremor hit at about 1:50 PM EDT, I was in the first-floor cafeteria getting a piece of chocolate fudge cake, and I felt nothing. Because I was the only person on my work team who didn't feel anything, I thought that there was something wrong with me.
