Anyone have a Disney inspired room?

Looking to decorate my kitchen nook with the "Beach Club" resort theme. Any suggestions? Also going for Mickey/Minnie/Goofy/Donald guest bath but not too "Kiddie" looking. I have some really nice older Mickey and gang pics. Stuck on what to get for a shower curtain? Any thoughts? Has anyone been so in love with the Disney resort hotel that you stayed at or a ride that you wanted to decorate a room in your home with that theme?

My home office is Disney, specifically Mickey. I painted three walls yellow & one wall red with black furniture. The circut breaker for my condo is in my home office so I used 16"x20" collage print of Disney pictures I've taken that I made on Snapfish, framed it in a cheap lightweight plastic frame & use the velcro like 3M Command picture hanging strips to hang it from my circut breaker. The circut breaker is hidden but is still very easy access if need be. All frames are black as is the wall mounted display box/shelf thing that's hanging above the door. I use/used simple black frames as I think there's enough going on between the yellow & red walls & all the pictures, art & other decor items that if I didn't it would just feel way too busy. However the black furniture & black frames & display box/shelf really seem to keep the whole room grounded & keep it from feeling too bright & stimulating.

My only suggestion is that if the rooms you are Disney-fying are public rooms that you keep the Disney subtle & not in your face. My home office is a private space I'm pretty much the only person that uses it or goes in there so it being over the top Disney isn't a problem. However I wouldn't want more than one room to be over the top Disney & I admit my home office is over the top Disney. One more suggestion pick something you can use as your theme & pull your color scheme from. I used Mickey for this which made choosing paint & furniture colors simple & helped to unify everything in the room as there's at least one Mickey item on every wall.

I don't have any Disney decor at my house, but if I were to recreate something in my own home I think I would want to recreate the Grand Californian. The kids and I felt so at home there, we could have happily moved right in to the villa.

I've got a Mickey kitchen. The bigger wall is yellow and the smaller one is red. I've also got a bunch of Mickey kitchen things like a cookie jar, kettle, tea towels, canisters, salt and pepper shakers, clock, etc. I still feel like it needs more Mickey though. There never seems to be enough biggrin

We want to do our jack and jill bath in Disney stuff, but Disney does not really have shower curtains and such. Any ideas where I can find that stuff?

I have seen Disney bath stuff at Walmart! They have a Mickey shaped black bathroom rug. Doesn't match my house, but SO cute. They also have towels, soap dishes, trash cans...I bet they have shower curtains too.

Okay, I've changed my mind.......going for "Classic Disney" in the guest bath. Yes, I'm still using my Mickey and gang pics but including pics of films like, "Aristocats", "Lady and the Tramp", "101 Dalmations", and "Peter Pan". I have a hand towel set (for decoration only) that's the "Cheshire Cat". LOVE HIM!!!! When I'm done I will post a pic. I wish I could find one of these classic characters in a soap dispenser, soap dish, etc. Still not sure how I'm going to do the kitchen nook with the "Beach Club" resort theme. I have a hanging Tiffany lamp over the kitchen table that has starfish and seahorses on it. Don't want to go overboard but looking for pieces to compliment a "Victorian Seaside" look. Any thoughts?

I had a room in our Charlotte house that had all our Disney stuffs. Now I can't wait to turn a room in the farmhouse into a magical place!

We got all the throws at World of Disney. Petty sure they were part of a "Spend this much and get a throw for a special price" offer. Because I needed an incentive to spend at WoD..... silly

I found the wallpaper I want for the room at the farmhouse....

I like it. Oddly enough it seems a bit Dr. Seuss meets the Haunted Mansion to me.

Very nice rooms Jeff! I like the haunted mansion room. I ventured over to Twitter and saw a sneak peak of that woman's HM room and it is AWESOME! You should totally do it!

My only concern about that wallpaper would be it's "busyness" as a backdrop for all your awesome Disney stuff. Your room in Charlotte is a nice neutral color, and a perfect backdrop to draw your eyes to the Disney items. That wallpaper would be an event in an of itself!

Maybe on one wall or something? But it is definitely cool. cool

I have indeed thought of that! What a clash that would be! Joe also suggested maybe just an accent wall. I may have lost sleep last night thinking about this.

Hence I came up with a brilliant solution - I need 2 Disney rooms! One for all my traditional stuff, and one themed after the Haunted Mansion!

I haven't run this by management yet, since I'm still viewed as on the borderline of obsessed and out of control, so maybe I can work it in during our 3 days of driving. He'll either be sick of me talking about it and give in, or leave me at a rest stop....

Jeff, I'm sort of leaning towards a hallway leading to your Disney room.

I may need to get that wall paper for my Man cave bathroom. At least on wall.

Absolutely, yes, more than one Disney space! It is, after all, a nice roomy house, no? mickey

2 Disney rooms is a great idea! The kitchen (which pictures of will be posted at the end of this post) is the only official Disney themed room here. However, there are very few places where there isn't a least one Mickey in our house. He's even outside on the doorstep to great you when you get home biggrin

Here is my Kitchen
