Wondering if anyone lives on a farm, or has any experience in starting or running a small self-sustaining farm, or moved from the city/urban life to rural life (including a change from corporate life to something else).

OK, back to Disney now.... 
We live on a farm its about 1000 acres or so. It has three houses on it. My dad farms the ground and we moved back to the family farm last fall. Actually I live in the same house I grew up in now. We moved from a rural area but it was more woods and hills and log cabin type with horses. Now we are in a country cottage with cows and farm fields everywhere and tractors. I love it! When the opportunity came to move into the house I grew up in I could not pass it up. My parents live in the house my grandparents used to live in and my son goes to the elementary school I did. He even has the same bus driver I had growing up. I have lived in town but only for a short while you know that whole I am 18 and going to show you how awesome I am kind of thing. But quickly realized country living is for me! So anyway I will gladly answer any questions I can to help you out. Trust me there is nothing like letting my kids go outside and play and knowing the only neighbors we have are my parents.

I've actually done a disturbing amount of research into going off and getting away from it all. Of course I just bought a house in the suburbs, so it doesn't appear that's in the cards soon.
