I have been informed that DVC members have been told about the Studios update like Carsland and Star Wars land. Is there any truth in this?

No, there has NOT been a general DVC email sent - nor is there anything posted on the DVC member website.
Disney would never announce such a major expansion in a low key manner, when they do announce there will be plenty of press involved. D23 Expo is next month - it's possible that there will be a keynote there with some sort of forward looking announcement. All the key players will be on hand anyhow.

I have only seen rumors posted on facebook and boards, nothing through DVC.

Okay because one of my co-workers mentioned that it was announced to DVC. Just wanted to see if that had any truth.
