AWESOME (after) Christmas Idea

I just saw this and thought it would make a great "After" Christmas Gift!
(Doubt it would get here before Christmas)

You could use your DVC home park Longitude/Latitude or WDW's
Longitude/Latitude....I put it on my New Year list....

XCLUSIVE! Brushed sterling-silver tag is engraved with the coordinates of your special location, paired with a compass charm, and accented with a freshwater pearl. On the reverse of the compass charm is the Tolkien quote "Not All Who Wander Are Lost". Tag is 1 1/4", compass 5/8". All three hang from an 18" sterling chain with spring ring clasp. Specify full postal address including street number and name, city, state, and ZIP code. Allow 4 weeks. Handmade and hand-engraved in the USA by Hanni. No rush delivery or gift box.

Looking at the example, it looks like you can really get the coordinates fairly tight. By this I mean, you could specify a fairly small point (a circle with a less than 2 meter diameter). So, you could pick a particular place within the WDW, like the HM or POTC.

For example, the lat and long for the entrance to POTC is N28deg25'04.08" W081deg35'05.36" or 28.4178, -081.5848.

Walt and Mickey in the center of the MK hub is N28deg25'07.61" W081deg34'52.32" or 28.4188, -081.5812.

(don't ask how I can do this, but I did a project a while ago for some folks who deliver things from airplanes and they aren't FedEx)

Pick your spot and I will attempt to give you the coordinates.

Now if I only had one of those transporters from Star Trek.... Of course you could end up on the roof of the HM, but at least you'd be there.

Thanks for letting me get my GPS geek on.

Interior spaces are a little more difficult, but not impossible. I am not an expert on the AKL, but I think Boma looks out at the pool area, not the savannah.

So if I had a transporter I would use N28deg21'09.41" W081deg36'10.94" or (28.3526, -081.6030) to beam you right into the middle of Boma.

The middle of the savannah would be N28deg21'12.98" W081deg36'09.95 or (28.3536, -081.6028). This spot is about 50 meters beyond the observation area rock pile.

To double check the coordinates, open up googlemaps and paste the latitude and longitudes into the search bar and click on search. You should get a map that shows where these coordinates really are.

That's really cool! I think that could be a nice engagement gift. Say the proposal happened in front of the castle, you could put that.

Nice job buffalo bill!
I was wondering about the Boma at
Animal Kingdom Park. It is visible
on the Kilimanjaro Safari Ride and it is
where we ate our lunch on the
Wild Safari Trek we paid to tour on
last year........

It is wonderful that you have this tool!

Thanks BuffaloBill- You really came thru!

The Boma-which is where you eat when you are on the
Wild Africa Trek (extra cost safari) in Animal Kingdom Park:

N28deg21'51.40" W081deg35'35.92" (28.3643, -081.5933)

Here are pics from 2012 from looking out from under the Boma

This is the giraffe that was standing under the tree- in the screen shot it is the tree on your
right - across the road.
