Back a day, already desperate to book another trip!

So we got back from DLP yesterday, and I'm already desperate to book another trip. I want to go to WDW in September or October 2017, when my baby is just over one year old. I know they'll be young but my parents took us when we were really little, and it didn't really matter that we didn't remember every trip.

Turned on the TV, and the UK free dining deals for WDW were being advertised, including $200 spending money. I had to restrain myself from booking a deal, the problem being, of course, that I'm not due till August, and you need to book by July to to take advantage of the deals.

So I guess I can wait till baby comes and see what deals are available then, or maybe I'd be able to book through an agent and add baby's details on later?

Does anybody know what US deals are coming up in the next year, and if I'd be better holding off to try and get one of them? I mean, free dining is all well and good, but we probably wouldn't benefit from it that much seeing as how we have specific dietary requirements, so we might have ended up just taking the Value hotel plus free breakfast deal.

Totally conflicted about my options. I know it's way early to be looking, but you know how it is when you have the Disney blues.

Thoughts welcome on this quandary, if you made it to the end! silly

On the Virgin Holidays website it says you can book up until 3rd November to get free dining for 2017. I believe this is the general Disney offer and you don't have to book through Virgin holidays to get it, but Disney just haven't advertised the extension yet. I checked because I can't book before the July deadline either as I am having medical treatment and can't book until I know that I have a period of remission with no chemotherapy etc. In previous years the offer did alter after the initial July deadline (I think the Disney gift card reduced from $200 to $100) but you still got free dining, 14 day for 7 passes and gift card. I am pretty sure I am correct but please do your own research as well to make sure awesome

As far as the USA- Disney has been offering specials this year -but it seems as if they are "playing around with" cut backs ... Like only offering breakfast free in the spring instead of a full meal plan... Personally, I think they will continue to offer something, but I think it will be less than years past....and they will start to raise the cost of extra's (as already demonstrated in the price hikes of MNSSHP & MVMCP, and "extra" event nights at a premium price) ... By next year...I think we will be scrimping to bare minimums on the "specials".....

US fall discounts are getting more and more difficult to get, especially free dining. They still are releasing them, but both this year and last year there was very limited availability when you actually went to book. As long as you are flexible with your dates and the resort you would like to stay at then you should wind up with something, but flexibility is key.

I agree with everyone else. The US deals are not great and seem to have more and more blackout dates. I look at the UK deals with jealousy and wish we could book through them!!

Thanks for the tips. At this stage, I'm thinking of just going for a basic budget trip staying in Pop Century, with any extras we can get. I'm not all that bothered about free dining, but it was just for the sake of saving a bit of money. First trip with baby is going to be a totally new experience, so I think we're best keeping things as simple as possible. I'd thought about going for two weeks/doing a split stay with time off site etc, but I think it's all going to be too much for the first time with baby, so maybe just ten days or so in Pop will be fine. Smile xx

I totally agree with you. Sad but so true.

If you were still interested- I found this on a Port Orleans Resort blog/website:

The UK Walt Disney Travel Company has just released its 2017 offer which only provides the Quick Service Dining Plan at Moderate Resorts, but is available for most dates in 2017 when you book a room along with 7, 14 or 21 day tickets for everyone, plus they give you a 'free' $200 Disney Gift Card per booking. The 2017 offer provides two counter service meals (which no longer include desserts) and TWO snack items per day, plus one refillable mug, and it is valid at both French Quarter and Riverside for most dates from 1 January " 29 March 2017 and 17 April " 30 November, 2017 (subject to availability and room category choice). Book by 7 July 2016.

These were the deals I was looking at, but I've just booked a wee AP trip to DLP so I'm gonna hold off on booking until later in the year/next year I think. Will end up going for whatever works out best at the time. xx

I so agree with this, and it is not going to make people happy. They's been fairly spoiled by free dining, and buy 5 nights get 2 free for so long now that having to pay "full price" when the prices keep going up is going to be a big turn off for many. However that's a strategic move that Bob Iger said in the Q2 Earning call that he's willing to make. He sees it as a way to control crowds and offer a better Park experience while still earning a profit.
