Be Our Guest Questions: Updated After Visit w/ Pictures

I'm SOOO EXCITED because we finally have a reservation at Be Our Guest for....tomorrow night!!! yay

A short Backstory. Now, I have checked BOG reservations for Saturday nights hundreds of times! Every few days, all year round, I check every Saturday night for the next six months, since that's all the schedule allows. Not one time, in my hundreds of attempts, have I ever gotten an open Saturday night. My husband asked me yesterday to see if I could make a Disney weekend happen for this weekend, and of course I jumped at the chance. I checked yesterday as soon as my DH called and there was an open reservation for Saturday at 4:00 biggrin

I have just a few questions for people who've actually been there for dinner. Any feedback would be appreciated awesome We don't normally do sit down restaurants and we are both very excited to finally see the inside of the castle, so I want to be sure to make the most of our dinner experience. Thanks for your input!

1. Can we choose to sit in the Ballroom or the West Wing? Some reviews have said you can choose, some say you can't.

2. Do you have a personal favorite between the Ballroom and the WW? I know they both have their flaws and their merits(BR is loud, WW is dark, BR has snowing windows! WW has the Master's portrait!)

3. Can you look around in the other rooms before or after you eat?

4. Do you still meet the Beast in his study after you eat?

5. Does the Beast come around to tables? If yes, does he come into the Ballroom and the West Wing?

Congratulations x

1. We have always eaten in the Ballroom, never thought to ask but if you don't ask you don't get, I would suggest asking at check in.

2. Personally having seen both rooms I like the Ballroom just because I like to see what I'm eating. The snow is great, and yes the portrait change is fun but after the first couple of times is a bit meh for me. Even though the snow is on repeat it never gets boring.

3. You could look round last October after you had eaten and take pictures (although I felt bad as people were eating) didn't do it this time though.

4. Yes you can.

5. No the Beast doesn't come to tables, but he does walk through the Ballroom to the study with great pomp and ceremony. I don't know about him going into the West Wing, he seems to always come out of a door and though the Ballroom.

Hope this helps, G and I love BOG, the theming is wonderful, we enjoy the food and are going back again at our next visit.

Have a wonderfully, fabulous time whichever room you eat in.

Thank you Sally-Ann for your detailed response. I think we'll eat in the Ballroom now that I know we can look around too. I honestly don't care at all about the food, I'm just excited about finally seeing the castle!

Exactly what Sally-Ann said. Have fun! Oh and the babies on the ceiling in the Ballroom are life like resemblances of Imagineers babies. Don't forget to do a "Touch the Rose" shot of the mural when going out.

I have eaten in both the WW and the ballroom. I have to say I like the WW better. There is something mysterious about. I didn't request where to be seated, but it never hurts to ask. The beast does walk through the WW (or at least part of it).

Thank you for the comments and suggestions. We had a wonderful time! We chose to sit in the Ballroom and they actually had all three rooms open for people to explore after they were done eating. I loved it!

We loved our visit to Be our Guest so much I thought I'd add a few pictures for anyone else who might be on the fence about dining here at least once.....GO! We were fortunate that they had all three rooms open for us to explore, as they usually only have the Ballroom and the West Wing open for dinner. The WW was so dark though that our pictures barely came out.

As far as food, DH got the Steak, w/ fries and greens beans and I got the salad as my entree because I wasn't feeling great and I didn't want to eat too much and then walk around in the HOT sun the rest of the day. We both got "The Grey Stuff" for dessert, and Lumiere was right, it WAS DELICIOUS!

While we were eating our dessert the Master made his way(very quickly) into his study. At the end of the dinner we explored the other two rooms. We walked past the study and saw the beast dancing in there all by himself! I didn't want to get a picture taken but I did want a picture of him and the handlers really encouraged us to come in and have the Beast pose, which he did.

On our way out we enjoyed the suits of armor and I got pictures of the beautiful window but forgot to touch the slipper eek
I enjoyed every moment of our visit and even though my DH and I are lucky enough to get many days at WDW, this day will always be very special to us. muchlove

Our reservation was at 4:00, and when we were checking in, two separate parties came up to the window to ask if there were any reservations left and they both got reservations for that night! If you can't get them online, try just going up to the window. Good luck! We don't ever do TS but I would definitely go back!!!

The rule we where told by a Cast Member at guest services in the MK is, if you are going to try to get a reservation on the same day, go directly to the restaurant of your choice when they open and ask if anything is available. She said the in-house system and the online reservation system are not synced exactly and can be as far off as 24 hours!

In other words, if you make a reservation on line and it's confirmed, you will get in. If it says there are no reservations available, there might be if you check with the restaurant directly. Do not call because that is the same system as the online system. It's a glitch Disney has never fixed apparently and one they are not worried enough about fixing anytime soon.

I have had friends walk in to the restaurant before for dinner. Like they went to the window asked and got seated in a timely manner.

Was the room with all the EMPTY tables closed off to guests???? That is kinda surprising to me. I mean I know you had a 4:00 ADR but still. I've been trying for a resi for weeks now... I just have it on an open time, not anytime specifically.

We've always had great luck with same-day reservations. Haven't tried BOG for dinner yet (we keep doing FP lunch instead). The key is to be flexible with your dining time - I can do dinner at 5:00 (or 9:30) if I really want to eat at a particular restaurant.
