It's funny you mention that. I always have interesting things I want to try and stuff I want to take note of before I go and then when I get there I get so caught up in all the usual stuff I forget 90% of it.

Yep, often times it all turns into one whimsical, brightly-colored, blur of fun and frivolity. Sometimes I notice when it's starting, but (unless there's something really important I need to remember - like a reservation) I usually just go with it because that's part of the fun. Getting caught up, and just forgetting about everything else.

Yeah it doesn't ever bother me. It just means I have something to try (and probably forget) next time!

You know, I'm just catching my stride in the 'habit of Disney' so to speak. That is the perpetuation of Disney vacations. From the first time I went, I wanted to go back. Then I wanted to share the experience with my family, so I brought them. This will be the first trip with my wife, and I hope it's the first of many. Assuming she'll be as wild about it as I am, I do intend to make a habit of it.

One caveat for us though, is this may well be the last time we're able to go anywhere without youngsters (we're not getting any younger you know wink ).

Ooh! I didn't catch that she hadn't been before. That's so much fun!

She's been to Tokyo Disneyland as a small child and WDW once with the band in college, but that was kind of a whirwind tour where they didn't have time to do much. This will be our first WDW trip together and the first for her as an adult with time to really enjoy everything.

I've never heard about this. Is it a daily event? Do you just flash your card? Where is it? Details! silly

It started during the Happiest Celebration on Earth, and it was such a big hit that Disney and Chase decided to continue with it. So it has been around since 2005.

Here's the info from the Disney Rewards website:

Quote:
Character Meet 'N' Greet

* Character Meet 'N' Greet photo opportunity offered daily between 1:30 PM and 4:30 PM at Innoventions West at Epcotî.

* Must present a valid Disney Rewards Visa Card for admission (limited to 6 people per card).

* Enjoy a personal photo experience with some of your favorite Disney Characters and receive a complimentary 5 x 7 photo. It's one of the most unique benefits of being a Cardmember at the Disney Parks.

* Separate Theme Park admission required.

* Operating times, days of week, and appearance of Characters may vary. See Guest Relations for more information.

If you have a Disney Visa, you should have received the info in your Disney Rewards mailings.

Zz.

Sounds fun - I secured a blogging job and will get the Visa if I make enough money!

We had breakfast at Chef Mickey's...what a thrill. We are definitly going to do that again! The only problem I had with it is, there was nobody to take a picture with both of us in it so we had to do each other. The servers and character escorts were busy with families...we kind of got ignored.

Couple things that happened that added to it...just before I took the picture of Donna with Goofy, he gave me a thumbs up! And Minnie snuck up behind me, told Donna not to say anything and planted a HUGE smooch on me!

As part of our honeymoon, we did a DCL...and one evening Cap'n Jack was there for pictures. Of course, being the pirates we are, we had to have one!

As we approached him, I said "Jack, you are my hero!" He was very quick to tell me "Thats Captain Jack to you!"

Very cool photos! I've only had one meal at Chef Mickey's and that was LONG ago. Looking forward to eating there sometime soon.

Remind me when your honeymoon was? Really fun to have Cap'n Jack there for photos!

One Columbus Day weekend at Epcot, we were hungry, ready for the Int'l Food and Wine Festival Down in World Showcase - on our way to the gluttony-fest, we met Chip and Dale, and they, well - did some sort of comedy act, and here's a photo proof!
