Where would I find the best basic, classic hot fudge sundae? We usually hit Ghirardelli's in DTD, but I hear so much about Beaches & Cream. I've never had their ice cream.
Does anyone have a favorite ice cream sundae spot?

I would have to say that Ghirardelli's in DTD is the one that gets my nod. I have visited Beaches & Cream on the Boardwalk, and the Main St. ice cream shop in MK, and although they are ALL good, after all it is ice cream, Ghirardelli beats them out by a very slim margin.
Beaches and Cream is my favorite, but I don't get Hot Fudge, I do caramel.

Holy smokes, does that look good..... 
Jan and I hit both Beaches and cream and Gearadelis at least once every time we are there. Beaches and Cream is our favorite by a long shot for bannana split and hot fudge sundae.

Well, this is going to be a difficult decision. I could always make the ultimate sacrifice and just have both....
Im a huge fan of beaches and cream myself! We try to eat there at least once..I love sitting at the counter, order a cheese burger (usually the only one at wdw that Ill eat) cherry coke and then a hot fudge sundae!
Friday at the hockey game DW and I shared a Belgian waffle got fudge sundae. Three scoops of premium ice cream over a hot out of the iron waffle topped with hot fudge, whipped cream and the obligatory cherry. I decided Moose Tracks and mint chocolate chip would be a winning combination...and I was right!
I haven't tried a proper sundae from Ghirardelli, yet, but I love Beaches and Cream! The Plaza's ice cream sundae is fun 'cause you're right there in the MK (and I like the waffle bowl).
Also, you can't discount the sundaes at the regular restaurants. I've heard Sci Fi has a great sundae.
On topic, the only sundae we've had was at the Plaza and it was yummy.
I haven't had a sundae from either place..but oh my goodness..they BOTH look amazing!!
I would try both..I mean why not..it's vacation right? Calories don't really count.
