The Best of MCO

We've all spent more than our fair share of time hanging out in the Orlando International Airport. What do you do when you're hanging around waiting for your plane? What are your favorite shops to stop in? Do you have a favorite airport restaurant? Is there any place you make sure to stop every time?

Share your best of MCO secrets with me!

Arrival: KrispyKreme donuts (we don't have any around here and I muchlove them) and then the Magical Express arrival area. yay
Departure: Krispy Kreme and the TSA security lines. sad

We hang by our gate reading or playing on our phones.

If lines don't look too bad at TSA, I stop at Chik-Fil-A before going to security. If not, then I just grab something on the other side of security and wait at the gate.

Is it still there!!?? I heard Cinnabon is now where it was. I was hoping for a Krispy Kreme when we land on Thursday crossfingers

Although, it they had to replace, I'm ok with Cinnabon. We have neither here .

We tend to fly Southwest so the only places we ever go to are the food court and the gift shop near the Southwest terminal area. Beyond that we spend very little time in the airport.

On the way to Disney, a huge dose of Starbucks is a must after the early morning flight. On the way home, my daughter hits the Swatch Store, and I always go through the Universal Store and even the Disney Store- can't help it!

Arrival head straight to Magical express and get to my resort so I can eat Disney food. Departure we usually head right to security and get in line, then we grab something to eat on the other side. Then it is sitting and waiting to go back to the real world. sad

Even though Orlando International is my favorite airport, I usually try to spend as little time there as possible because obviously I'd rather be at WDW!!! However, when we got home from our cruise in November, the DCL bus had us to the airport 5 hours before our flight! So for the first hour, we traded off watching each other's bags and browsing the Disney Store--did you know that there are 2 Disney stores?? I hadn't realized before! The one by the security check point for A terminal is nicer IMO than the one that we usually see near B terminal. (We fly Southwest almost exclusively because of airline points.) After we were able to drop our bags (have to be within 4 hours of flight--who knew?), we ate at Macaroni Grill in the main terminal and that was very nice.

Usually we eat at the gate and the food options at the Southwest gates are lackluster at best. However, yesterday I flew home on Frontier and I was pleased to find an On the Border to go window at the Frontier/JetBlue gates. The chicken flautas were quite tasty and they provided cups of nacho cheese, pico de gallo, and sour cream to accompany them. Not gourmet, but solid quick service Tex-Mex.

Two Disney Stores at the airport! I'll have to check for the second one next year.
