If I ever do it... it will just be by Taxi more than likely... but maybe others who have done it a lot can say better.

I would think taxi would be your (best, only) option. I guess you could rent a car for the day but that always seems like a lot of hassle.

I would think that anything you did other than taking a taxi would be very time-consuming and possibly shady. I can think of ways to do it, but I wouldn't recommend them.

We've done it by taxi, it's the quickest if not the cheapest way.

You could do it by getting to either DTD or the TTC and getting the Lynx bus (about $2 iirc) up to I-Drive, then switch to the I-Ride shuttle ($1.50) at Seaworld but you'd still have a 20 minute walk from I-Drive across the bridge into Universal unless you grabbed a taxi outside one of the big hotels at the top of I-Drive which would be about $8.

Someone posted a while ago about a pre-bookable shuttle service run by Mear's, but I've not used it.

If I could ask... how much was it? I keep playing around with the idea of going, but would like a guesstament of how much a taxi would be.

It was a few years ago but iirc about $30 probably a bit more now. Split between 4 adults that isn't too bad I guess. The main advantages are the time saved and the door to door service.

When I was at Pop in November a woman told me about shuttle to Universal. It took me a while to find the site when I was planning this year's trip.

This is what I was planning on going with. I have a friend from another board (*shame on me* ) who did this and said it worked out just fine. I was really hoping to not rent a car so I am keeping my fingers crossed that I have success with this plan as well.

I took a cab in the AM $40 and took 2 or 3 buses from UniStu to the TTC on the way home $3.00
It took a long time to get home but as I was solo I didn't mind. You can grab a bus from the City Walk parking area headed towards Sea World and then grab a bus from Sea World to the TTC. I took the monorail to Epcot and then caught a bus back to the Pop. I got to UniStu at rope drop did the major rides then enjoyed the WWoHP and headed home. If you're staying until the parks closes I'd cab it both ways.
If you have friends who will share the cab fare then that's the easiest way there and back. You can call the front desk and have them call a cab for you. There's generally one or two outside the lobby entrance.

Mears has a shuttle, we used it last time to get to universal

I beleive it was 13-15 each and then they give you a number to call when you want to leave...it's not a private shuttle, you will most likely be sharing with someone else but it was easy and convenient
