Like I mentioned in another thread, I'd like to start putting up some superlative polls to help us (and others) plan. Here's the first!

I like this idea Smile

This was a no-brainer choice for me. ToT is my favorite ride, period.

I think I like that one best, too. Though tomorrow I'll probably change my mind laugh

I picked Expedition Everest. While both it and ToT offer great thrills and ToT may be a bit more thrilling. The theming on EE just puts it over the top for me.

Wish I could vote, but my inner ear condition keeps me from riding anything that flips or loops you.

I can ride Space Mountan or Big Thunder Mountain all day, but I'd probably die on some of the others. Even TOT got to me last time I rode it.

Can I cast a write in for "Mr Toad's Wild Ride"? (R.I.P.)

Gee can I cast a vote for "It's a small world" laugh laugh cause that and Maelstrom in Norway is about all I can handle since I had a "small one" that almost turned into "the big one" and was accompanied by a quad bypass wheelchair All is fine now but my Dr. says to stay away from the ones that will get me pumping"just in case" waiting

Well good, this thread can serve as a reminder of which rides to absolutely not go on! Don't even look at them!

I voted for Expedition Everest. While Splash Mountain is my favorite ride, EE is more "thrilling."

Woo! How long ago was that?!?

Bali that was Dec. of 2000 and I came through it better than before. I have been known to go on a few rides that I should not be on but as I get even older that seems to be taking a back seat to common sense. But I must stress that it does not diminish my love of WDW.

Thrill rides are fun but not really the #1 selling point of WDW if you ask me. Although they've been welcome additions. I'm not sure I would love going as much without ToT and EE in particular.

I voted for Splash Mountain, even though I agree it's not as "thrilling" as ToT or EE or even RnRC, but I really do enjoy the fact that the last plunge is unrestrained and it's my favorite ride anyway!

i think rock-n-roller coaster is unappreciated because it's right next door to tower of terror, which is great too. i love the start of the ride.

Yep! The start of RnRC has to be just about the best start of any ride I've been on!

If I was voting, I'd do Space Mountain. After all, its one of the few I can ride.

I hope he can. That would be horrifying!

I went with ToT. It was close between that ans EE, but ToT won because it is slightly different everytime.

That is a good point in favor of ToT. Although sometimes I wish it would do my favorite configuration every time. silly

The absolute best part of ToT for me is that first moment in the "jumping" shaft (I don't know what else to call it, but it's as good a name as any I suppose!). I love not knowing which way the elevator is going to go, sure it'll go down, and then being completely surprised when you're flung right to the top! Actually, I take that back. The BEST moment is when you hit the top and you get that floating off the seat sensation -- I LOVE that!

It drives me crazy when non-Disney people write off Disney Parks as lacking thrill rides. To me, what good is a thrill ride if it doesn't have themeing? I can go to any State Fair (or Six Flags) in the country for that. Part of the mission of Disney Parks is to separate themselves from that kind of park, and themeing is the number one difference. Of course there are other differences as well. Guest service and cleanliness are two that come to mind.

Anyway, with that rant out of the way, I'll vote on my favorite thrill ride, but I vote on it as a complete package, -not just a vote for the ride that's the most 'thrilling'.

I voted for Expedition Everest for many reasons. The themeing and design, to me, was brought to a whole new level by Disney Imagineering. It truly is a Disney Mountain that Walt would be proud of. One of Walt's proudest achievments at the time was the Matterhorn Bobsleds which was inspired by the Swiss Alps, just as Everest was inspired by The Himalayas. EE was designed and Imagineered in very much the same spirit.

Sometimes I do feel like a real "thrill" ride and I have to say Six Flags does have some great rides in that department. Unfortunately everything else about the experience is lacking. There is pretty much nothing "magical" about the experience--the teenage workers are usually bad at their jobs, they don't do much for customer service, it's rarely clean, the theming is pretty sad. Still sometimes you just like a big drop! silly

RnRC. The launch isn't quite face-flattening, but it's still good.

Tough choice! I was torn between RNRC, but finally went with EE. Not only is the ride thrilling, but the height of it just took my breath away.

The view on the initial climb is one of my favorite things at WDW.

Close for me between RR, EE, and ToT. I went with the Tower in the end for the queue, the often excellent cast members, and the variance. My favorite part of the ride is the picture afterward when I'm wearing a jovial/happy/sleepy/otherwise-not-scared face in stark contrast to some of the riders with that look of sheer terror (not that there's anything wrong with that). LOL, cracks me up every time.

It's funny you mention that I get a bit of a kick out of that too. I kind of look like I'm a little bit grumpy and that's about it. It's kind of incongruous with me having my arms raised straight above my head too. silly

Yeah, that always thrills me to no end (no pun intended). Try giving your sweetie a kiss or laying your head on his/her shoulder like an impromptu nap...those are a hoot too. Sometimes I can't help but have a big silly grin and flailing arms though.
