If you were staying at Disney for a week, which resort would be the best choice? Storm Along Bay is amazing but that roller coaster looking slide at Boardwalk looks awesome too. Any opinions? Thanks.

We've stayed at the Beach Club but not the Boardwalk. My opinion: Beach Club is nice and convenient (as would be the Boardwalk!), but it was a big maze inside to get to our room (not a big deal) and Storm Along Bay is absolutely amazing! it's got something for everyone - the sandy beach entrance, the lazy river area, the giant slide from the pirate ship, and it's big enough that we were always able to find less crowded areas. And if you have kids, they sponsor alot of kid-friendly activities at the pool in the afternoon. They also have a separate adult pool.
We do want to stay at the Boardwalk sometime though.
Id say Boardwalk. Just looks too much fun!

I happen to love the Beach Club so that's my vote
I'm thinking of going to the Boardwalk in 2012. My only concern is the lack of quick service options at this resort. Beach Club doesn't appear to have a big quick service area either. Neither appear to have a food court like the other resort hotels. I guess they are close enough to Epcot that I could just go there for lunch.
JeffC, did you find lack of quick service an issue?
We are headed to the Boardwalk in Sept so I give you a more accurate account then. Of course sept can't come soon enough.
We've stayed at:
Grand Floridian, Wilderness Lodge, Beach/Yacht Club, Old Key West Resort, Port Orleans (Riverside & French Quarter), Coronado Springs, Boardwalk Inn, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Caribbean Beach, Pop Century, All Star (Music & Sports).

This is definitely a problem, but if you have park hopper tickets, you can always go into Epcot for counter-service. Really stinks at night, though, when you're hungry and there aren't really any options. You do have the Hess station by the Boardwalk, but sometimes old hot dogs don't really do it, ya know?
Poppet -- I like Beach Club better simply because of Stormalong Bay and it's closer to Epcot. I also like having the Yacht Club right there, so there are really five pools to choose from (and one of 'em HAS to be not too busy, right?)

No, not really. Since we usually have poptarts or granola bars for breakfast so we can make rope drop, that did not bother us. We rarely have anything at the resort anyhow, so it did not bother us at all.
We have stayed at both resorts in DVC studios. There really is not all that much difference in them. The pool is bigger at the Beach Club and we had a whirlpool tub in our room. I think however, I woukd say I like the Boardwalk just a bit better. At the Boardwalk you do have the bakery for mornings and there are a few carts with pizza and such on the boardwalk.
Any big pros or cons? Thanks.
I can not really come up with either a pro or con for one vs the other. They really are so similar. Even their themes are pretty much the same. I would say the Beach Club is a shorter walk into EPCOT.
